I just received a confirmation for a reservation I didn't make!

Get home, open the mail, and there is a confirm from WDW for a reservation at POR I never made!!! We have ressies for Dolphin 2/27 - 3/6 AAA rate. When the Disney Visa promo came out I called to price the same dates but at POR. Promo was going to cost $300 extra, so we decided to stay at the Dolphin. I NEVER gave them a credit card. And truth be told, I really have my heart set on staying at the Dolphin thanks to everyone's great advise from this board.

So call WDW, they say it was a "glitch", the computer confirmed the POR ressie then cancelled it. They assure me that I DON'T have a ressie at POR. So I'll see, I'll give it a week, then call and recheck the ressie.

Yep ... those Disney computers have been known to make errors! I received an apology letter before our trip in Feb about the pool at POR being under refurb during our stay ... we were never staying at POR, we were booked at CBR

I once cancelled a ressie at ASMo because I got a better deal at POFQ -- the day after we checked in, I got a call at POFQ from ASMo to confirm that I would NOT be checking into ASMo. When I called and gave them all of the info as to when I had cancelled the ressie (like 8 weeks earlier), she said that the computer had no record, but also had no deposit on it anyway. Maybe this is one of the reasons that the hotels appear to be overbooked

Have a great trip ... I don't currently have any ressies so getting a little yellow envelope would have actually made my day!

We called for quotes on 3 different resorts and we received confirmations for all three.When I called they said they were courtesy holds and if I didn't pay the deposits they were automatically cancelled.I have called for rates before and this happened then also.

Some years ago I made a ressie for All Star Sports (only). Its confirmation came in the mail, but before I sent in the deposit, I got a confirmation for POR at the same rate. I sent in a deposit only for the POR ressie, and stayed at POR.

I suspect that ASSp was overbooked.
