Ok, I am one of those people who booked without a PIN (or if I have a PIN, noone has ever told me, but I've also never asked). I read the code here about a week ago, honestly thought it was a general code (I'm new to all this, my first trip since 1996), called, mentioned the code and the wonderful CM told me it was good (I had to add a day to fall within the dates and upgrade to courtyard view, oh darn) so I took it. I cancelled my old reservation (which was rack rate).

I don't have my reservation confirmation letter yet for the new reservation (although, the online version gives all the information). But I know a few people have gotten theirs, and the code was applied. On the back of my other reservation (which I assume is standard and will be on the new one) it reads: "Rate Revisions: Room rates and package rates for arrivals on or prior to December 31st, 2007 are guaranteed as long as your rservation is not changed."

So, maybe I'm wrong, but if you actually get a reservation confirmation letter in the mail, with the discounted price, and it says this on the back, then aren't you guaranteed the price?

I know people have talked about the GF glitch, but did anyone there actually have confirmation letters. And if so, did anyone try legal action against Disney for not honoring it? (I'm not saying they should have, I'm just wondering)

I would think if you have a confirmation they would have to honor it, but I have heard that Disney can change your rate at any time for any reason. :confused3 I really do not understand that one. That would give them the freedom to change it for reasons that aren't even code related. I mean someone could pay rack rate and get free dining (like past promos - no code even needed) and show up their hotel only to find dining has been charged because Disney changed their mind? Wow ~ that's scary.
So even folks out there who don't have a pin or a code can arrive at their hotel, trip paid in full (rack rate) and find Disney decided to add 10% to their bill? Where is the line drawn...or is it?

I just copied the message below from Disney's terms on my reservation screen:

Terms and Conditions – Package
RATES

All rates are subject to change until package is paid in full. After package is paid in full, rate is subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities. All rates are in U.S. dollars.
Everyone in the room must be on the same package, and, if anyone in the room has purchased ticket options, everyone in the room must purchase the same option. Additional adult charges may apply if more than two adults per room.

It seems to me that a rate can change until the package is paid in full. I think I'm going to pay mine in full today.

I don't think that it is really that you paid in full more than the final payment date. Last year, when FL raised the tax rate, I had people that ended up owing money to Disney, even though they were paid in full already. A bunch of us went down at the same exact time, same dates. Some were paid, some weren't. The ones that had already paid owed a tiny bit of money, those of us that hadn't paid owed a little more.
