I love smooching ds's gooey baby cheeks, watching him laugh at my funny faces, learning to grab objects and reach for me. My heart hurts when I think about being away from him. It's amazing the love we feel for our children. Like when my dd tells me about her day, and how her tone, facial expressions, and gestures change for emphasis (I love watching her, sometimes I have a hard time listening because I'm too busy taking her all in). I'm tearing up. How special they are....

Crazy as this may sound....I was feeling the very same way today about my DD, and she's 16 1/2 years old. Everyday is a complete joy with her; she is a wonderful young lady with a good head on her shoulders, who makes smart choices.

It upsets me when people cringe when I say I have a teenager--they can be wonderful creates! I love being around her and her friends. They're a great bunch of kids, so much so that I'm traveling 20 hrs. on a bus with them each way for their marching band trip to WDW in Feb. I did it once before and can hardly wait to do it all over again.

Treasure every minute--they sure grow up fast!

I know what you mean. There's not a day that goes by that I don't give thanks to God that I have my WONDERFUL children.:goodvibes

What a wonderful, heart-warming thread!! I feel the same way about my two treasures. They are my long-awaited angel girls, and I love them to bits and I'm so blessed and honored to be their Mom. I miss their baby stage terribly, but I love that they are so funny, interesting, creative, sarcastic, and such cool little people at 9 and 10 years old. And they'll still climb into my lap and snuggle.

Boy, will I miss that.

Awww, what a sweet thread! I feel the same way about my 2 wonderful kids. I absolutely adore them...so much so that I am hoping to have just one more in a couple years, if possible. ;)

I hear ya! I look at pictures of my DD here on my desk at work and just dream of winning the lottery so that I don't have to work anymore and can spend more time with her. She's just about 18 months at this point and so full of life, sass and spunk. Nothing like the giggle and smile of a toddler.

Mine is a teenager, too and he's just as sweet as he was as a baby. He likes to bend down, take MY face in his hands and tell ME how cute I AM!!! :lmao: Yes, he's twice my height!! :lmao:

Loved children have an aura that cannot be displaced, no matter how old they are!! :thumbsup2

I totally get where you are coming from. DD turns 15 in a couple of weeks. I love hanging out with her and hearing about her life. I'm not saying she's perfect but she really is a great kid with a lot that she brings to the table. She is absolutely the love of my life. Have fun on your bus ride!
