I just hate winter!!!!!

Hi - I'm here in beautiful Green Bay! Not bad here - actually although it's blowing and flurrying, I think we've missed this one. A light ground covering here, but as the DJ on the radio said this morning "It's December and we're in Wisconsin; we really shouldn't be complaining about a little snow!"

It's sort of funny because I've never heard of Peter Noone (nor did I know he was playing here) until I read my Freecycle emails this morning and there was a request from a 13 year old who was desperately trying to get some tickets for it for her parents as a gift - too bad you can't send her yours (which apparently you won't be using!); but I guess if you could get the tickets here you'd get yourself here instead!

It better be gone by Wednesday because I have to drive to Milwaukee for the day (stupid VA physical) while DH is out of state and I'm leaving my 3 kids (11, 13, 14) home to fend for themselves after school :scared1: . We're new here and don't have any family, but I'm going to ask a neighbor to be "on call" just in case they need her!

Disykat - we moved from Detroit and can't tell you how many people I had from there ask us about all the snow we got after watching Monday Night Football. Everyone just assumed the snow must be in Green Bay, not Seattle!

A friend of mine said that snow was a foul four letter word. I think she's right. Bye bye spring like weather.
I like that! :) We had the spring like weather right up til this stupid ice/snow storm we just had. I really am going to consider retiring somewhere that has warmer winters. This is for the birds. Whine, whine, whine LOL.

I hate it too! :furious: The kids are off school today. In and out of the house. Snow clunks all over. Ack. I am ready to move South! They are fighting over the 2 saucers we have with the other neighbor kids. Is it too early to start drinking?! I'ts 5 o'clock somewhere, right? :teeth:

:thumbsup2 Yes, some where around the world its 5pm. I hate that too, the snow clunks all over. Use your trash lids for saucers if the kids are small enough.

must have been smiling on me FRi

after we moved what seemed like a ton of snow!!! (we did get 11 inches!!)

the sun started coming out around 1:30 so by 2:30 the roads were for the most part slushy so we thought we'd try

we made it!!! the highway was already dry in most places--we did see about 6 cars in the ditch but it was a very nice ride :goodvibes

the concert was terrific!! as usually--we stayed at a hotel down the block so we could walk.

the couple in front of us at the hotel was also from milwaukee and they didnt know if they were going to make it.

I had called the concert hall around 10 that morning and the lady said we were just talking about you people in Milwaukee--but Peters here already
and anxious to go on.

all in all in was a great weekend :goodvibes

I feel your pain. We're having a dreadfully cold winter so far here in Florida. It's like 74 degrees outside right now. Gotta go get my parka and crank the heat up :)

I'm right there with you DizzKneeGeek! Yesterday here in SC it was 79...today it is only 62. I'm probably going to freeze to death if I don't go find my coat! ;)

This is the time of year I really start to appreciate why we moved down here from Illinois!

Glad to see you made it to the concert, Dznypal. I was thinking about you today, we took the Corvette to a car show and it was about 60 and sunny. Sure glad we don't have to deal with snow anymore.

Glad you had a good time. Did you get to use the hot tub? I have always said that "roughing it" was staying at a hotel without a hot tub!

when we got back from the show we sat for awhile in the hottub

boy that was nice :goodvibes

we had the hottub and pool all to ourselves and our room was right off of the pool courtyard.

after all we went through to get there it was a very nice weekend

thanks everyone for listening to my hissy fits!!!

Sitting here it's getting cold outside, last week it was in the high 60's and it was wonderful. I told my girlfriend that moved to Florida it was warm up here. She said they were too in the 80's but it was going to get cold this weekend. Cold for her now is in the 60's. Well someday I will be down there in the cool 60's too!
