I just hate winter!!!!!

I am so mad!!!!!

DH and me had a nice weekend planned--we were going to Green Bay (which is about a 2 hour drive) to see a concert (Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits for any of you that like oldies)

and stay overnite--had a nice hotel near the theater that had an indoor pool and hot tub

There were a few problems that I had to take care of--

when I got tickets in Aug the hotel was $170!!!! since the Packers were playing that weekend thank goodness we'd be home by the time the game is!!!!!

a few months ago I checked on the price again and it was back to regular rate $71 for a king room

great things are going good--

then I had to see if someone would switch days with me --so I did get someone which wasnt easy since it breaks up your weekend (we work every other weekend) so I worked sun and now Im off sat

just saw on the weather that we're in for a big winter storm!!!!!!

anywhere from 4-6 inches!!!!!!! more to the south of us--less as you go north which is where the concert is

so now we dont know if we can make it!!!!

if the roads get cleared early enough we could maybe leave around 4 and at least eat and go to the show and still stay over!!!

man and we have 3rd row seats!!!!!


God I just hate winter!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel your pain. We're getting a big one here too. We're supposed to be heading to Chicago Saturday to stay through Monday but now we won't go until Sunday (if at all, well DH will cuz he has to for business). The kids and I were gonna tag along for fun. DH's function is at a nice hotel on Michigan Ave. and we were so looking forward to going up and shopping and seeing all of the Christmas decorations! Oh well, I'd rather us all stay safe but it still stinks!

Speaking of big storms, my kids are going to bed with their p.j.'s on backwards for good luck to get a snow day tomorrow. Has anyone ever heard of this? I came down in my p.j.'s on the "right" way and they demanded that I turn them around backwards. Nope, no way. Doesn't sound comfy to me. I've not heard of this before. My DS even has his boxers on backwards.

I can't believe you're going to see Peter Noone! Herman's Hermits was the first album I ever owned. Got it for Christmas in 19......... Still have it!!

They just "upgraded" our forecast to 12" - 16" of snow.

I already have the babysitter on alert in case of a snow day. My DD was trying on her snow pants to make sure they fit.

It sure has felt like winter here, but winter is still almost a month away!

I'm about as far West as you can get. We've had 3 snow days and one late start already this week. We don't need any more.

We have been so lucky here in NYC with the temperature in the high 60s but it is going to drop down into the 40s this weekend and start to feel like winter. I hate the winter too, but its those dark dreary days i hate the most. I have to live with the cold weather, but I dont mind it as much if the sun is shining.

I could go for that since I am sitting right here "IN" St. Louis. It has been sleeting and freezing rain for about 15 hours now. Oh yeah....the snow is supposed to start soon if it hasn't already. I need to go check as I am stuck at work. Our whole campus at work has trees down and a couple of buildings have no power. The news says 75000 people don't have power. So.......

DH is out snowblowing already not only ours but the neighbors!!! (that one I cant figure out the guys a butt head!!! but anyway

next vent though --the tickets we know are non returnable but now the hotel has a 24 hr cnacellation policy I would have cancelled yesterday--yesterday we still thought there was a way out!!!

I have a call into the manager maybe he can do something even though the front desk she talked to him and he said to stick to the cnacellation policy--

some hotels I know you can cancell the day of!!!

I hate it too! The kids are off school today. In and out of the house. Snow clunks all over. Ack. I am ready to move South! They are fighting over the 2 saucers we have with the other neighbor kids. Is it too early to start drinking?! I'ts 5 o'clock somewhere, right?
