Alright. My review on the movie that was supposedly based on one of my favorite books ever.
Ever since casting, I've HATED Robert Pattinson being cast as Edward. The movie did not disappoint my beliefs.
He played Edward with barely any emotion whatsoever. Instead of being torn between what was right and what was wrong, he just seemed to kind of yell at her a lot. I mean, when they're in the compost place (?), she trips and he's like, "COULD YOU AT LEAST LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING?" WTH. Edward would NEVER say anything rude like that to Bella. I dunno, I love the half of midnight sun that is available more than anything of the series. I LOVE Edward and who he is as a character. He's super funny and totally adorable with his weird insanity and obsessiveness, as well as his endearing and absolute love for Bella. NONE of that was portrayed in the movie.
Um...where did the love story go? The movie was like, a summary of the book. It never went into detail anywhere. Edward and Bella went from him HOLDING HIS NOSE when she came into the biology room

rotfl: ) to climbing trees (which, you know, also doesn't happen). I know the book is also fast paced in terms of their love growing but there is no basis for the love in the movie. Where's their sarcastic, witty banter that they have throughout the first half of the book? It's the best part of the whole book series in my opinion, and they completely cut it out. The blood typing part? Her aversion to blood is not announced in twilight the movie, so if they do make a breaking dawn, her not needing blood as badly as they thought isn't going to make much sense.
It seemed super rushed, and everything was completely awkward and really badly written and acted.
I dunno, everybody hated the make out scene, but that and the part where edward wants to meet her dad and her dad gets the shotgun ready with one hand were my favorite parts. I was like, "WhOA" haha.
I loved Charlie. I loved Emmett.
I even loved when they went to La Push and Jacob came and his two friends and they looked like Hanson.
I thought the movie was funny when it really shouldn't have been.
It really made me mad after I saw the movie though.
I knew it was going to be horrible, but it still makes me upset that they couldn't have done the book any justice. Maybe they'll remake it like they did with hulk (unfortunately it's doing well in theaters so they probably won't see anything wrong with it and just make new moon just as badly).
I'm interested to see how they'll make shark boy look like a huge wereboy in New Moon, seeing as they've already got the green light for it.
