I went to Kmart to buy "The Passion" and some bread. I came through the parking lot which goes past the exit for McDonalds to a road under construction. No light there. I was waiting for a line of cars and someone from the McD's lot came up and started beeping at me. I drifted foreward a little in case I was blocking their way.

They followed me onto Detroit Rd. and kept up honking and honking. I had to stop for a light a couple hundred feet up where I was going to turn. I thought it might be one fo my sons fooling around. I looked back and this guy flipped me the bird!. He puts his car in park and flies out to my car. I put the window down just an inch and he screams and expletive involving a male bird and....you get the idea. Well, I thought he was drunk. He was in his late 20's dressed in a white dress shirt and tie, very neat and upscale kinda guy. I didn't know what to think. I didn't cut him off or anything. Didn't overlook a stop sign or anything.

I turned the corner and got his license number. As I was driving home, the only thing I can think might have been an issue...I have a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker. Man, get a grip people.

when a man will be screaming at a women, he is a wimp anyway (but I cant approve of your sicking bumper sticker  )

The same thing happened to me in a parking lot. A guy pulled up blocking my car as I was getting ready to back out. He glared at me, laid on his horn, shot me the finger, yelled something I couldn't understand but got the gist of and pointed to my bumper. I also have a Kerry/Edwards sticker on the bumper of my car.

I leaned out of my car and blew him a kiss. He stomped on the gas and shot out of the parking lot. What an idiot!

The guy's a jerk! Just try to shrug it off. I've seen lots of bumper stickers from both candidates, but none of the road rage. What's next, people ripping campaign signs out of people's yards?

From what I've heard...I'd rather have someone yell at me then squirt me with urine as they are doing to the delegates at the RNC.

Edited to add....I do not condone this at all, but jeez now republicans are being blamed for bumper stickers? :earseek:

Can't wait for the election to be over and done with!!!!

Brittsmum, I did not accuse anyone. I said that is the only thing I know might have cause his rage. People on both sides are capable of acting poorly this election. I don't understand it and sure wish it would stop.

I am a Democrat and a liberal. I am not a hater or an accuser.

Well, behaving that way towards anyone because of political affiliation or beliefs is ridiculous. I don't understand it either. Sorry you had to deal with it.

That stinks.

That said, I'd never have a controversial bumper sticker on my car...too many crazy people out there.

People take these politics way too personally. Get a grip.

Come December, we all have to still live peacefully together! Do they not realize that?

Sorry about your exp =( I would have been terrified!

I'm sorry that happened. A friend of mine came out to the mall parking lot about a month ago to find her car stuck with five Bush/Cheney stickers. They had removed her Kerry/Edwards (which she attached with magnetic tape, so as to not leave marks), and put Bush stickers all over actually stuck on. She had alot of paint damage to her car from trying to remove them. :( I do not blame Republicans for that because I know 99% of them would never do that. Just like most democrats wouldn't squirt urine on RNC delegates. But its experiences like that (I knew someone who had something similiar happen due to their Gore sticker in '00) that prevent me from proudly displaying my Kerry sticker in this Republican area.

How did we get to the point in America where displaying your choice in the presidential election is cause for damaging another's property.

Unless I am wrong, the whole point of the USA is that we have freedom of choice. WE elect our president and other officials. Sometimes we get to choose and sometimes the other guys get to choose.

Well, I have back up stickers and yard signs just in case. I am waiting till the deadline for my city for yard signs. I have the right to proudly wear the name of the candidate I choose no matter if anyone else agrees with me or not. And, I believe you have the right to do so also.

How do we get the craziness to stop? Has it ever been this bad before?

I thought this election too important--and very personal--and proudly displayed my first bumper sticker, ever!

Of course, mine said "Bush/Cheney"! However, I live in an area with many democrats, so I wasn't sure how my sticker would be viewed. Sure enough, as the time is getting closer, the Kerry/Edwards signs and stickers are getting outnumbered.

We're originally from a Cleveland suburb, too, by the way. . .and just moved here last year.

I visited my parents last weekend and all the way up to Cleveland, the kids and I played a game. . .tallying up all the political bumper stickers! It was 22 Bush and 5 Kerry/Edwards. There were a ton of "I support the troops" and "god bless America". I'm assuming those are Bush supporters, but I didn't even count 'em!

So Kerry supporters don't support the troops? They arnt patriotic? Seems like a fair assumption to me

This is so sad...

I never have a bumper sticker because of this. I think these choices are private and could care less what people think of my choice. However I HAVE had opinions of people with them and I don't want any of the road rage that is ALREADY too much in Atlanta directed towards ME!

This election is, no doubt, the most emotional of any I've seen in the many years I've lived on this earth. People are DRIVEN and determined, and this can be a good or bad thing. Sorry, RNMom that you had to experience the bad things.... :(

Why would someone have road rage over a political bumper sticker?
That jerk was probably mad because he couldn't get to the gym 10 seconds earlier than he wanted to.
It seems like everywhere I go anymore there is someone tailgating me, flipping me off, beeping their horn, etc. I'm now seeing supermarket rage. I'm serious. People are like commandos with shopping carts and act like loons because there are 3 people ahead of them at the checkout.
After my little boy and I were hit while driving and almost died a few years ago it amazes me what drivers will do. I certainly don't want anyone to go through what I did trying to recover from that accident.

People need to calm down.

Thanks for all your support.

As I said, I really don't know the true cause of his rage but I simply pulled up to turn on a street and he came up behind me and went nuts.

As far as the gym, I don't know where he was going but it was almost 10pm and most things were closed down already. We live in a pretty rural area for a suburb.

I feel I have the right/obligation to support my candidate. I hear a lot of people who say they don't want to "waste" a vote on someone no one else is going to vote for... I want people to know I support my candidate. Besides, no one seems to object to all the other stickers out there.

I have a sticker of bettie page on my back window... I'd like a kerry bumper sticker, but I can't find any around here :(
