I just had a funny experience.....

I was just in VMK and another person approached me and told me she was a staff member and that I had to give/trade her something or she would kick me out of the game.

My user name is Suzee and I am 50 years old, guys. If you see me in the game, don't make the mistake of thinking I, or everyone for that matter, am 12 years old.

I have reported more people in the last 10 days of playing the VMK than I have since the site opened. That is pretty bad.....it is supposed to be a fun place to hang out and learn new games. Not a street corner to bully someone on!

I totally agree Cat.....that is what that button is for and players doing this should be reported using that button and immediately removed from the game.

with 4,000 players in the game now it may be time VMK added a few more staff, ya think. To quell some of these players that have no business in the game at all.

Isn't that what the 2 hour ban should be for to remove them review the logs and then take what action is necessary whether it be a month ban to rethink their attitudes or a permanent ban.

I hope that soon VMK can get this and some of the other bad behaviors happening in the game under control....I know it is a daunting task and I do wish them luck.

I hat you you're such a big beach" and so on. bestlittlelauren didn't see, but I did. I wanted to report but I didn't afraid of them banning me for a "bad report" I hope she got banned for 1. Being a baby. 2. Cursing on a game.

You can't be banned for being a "bay be". .-.

Anyways, I too have probably reported more people in the last month than I have ever before.

you get ban for a weak for cursing in the game my brother got ban for saying "your a beach" when he lost pirates

Actually I spent a bit of time at pirates this past week as my work is not allowing me time for the mansion and I may be lucky if it allows me time for vmk soon, But I have heard that substitute a feathered bird for ### and I do report... I find there is quite a bit of ugliness by some of the players at pirates right now, they really don't like to lose.

I agree about much that has been said, I would Note the report and help function really need to be separated so they can deal with them as emergencies (it's a virtual game not sure what constitutes a virtual emergency but...)and report issues with multiple reports overriding single reports (unless it becomes an emergency?). Currently, when you click report it just takes you to the help function and fills in the title space. I am possitive different staff respond differently to the reports I would not want to characterize why I feel this way however.

I have got the response only ask for help in emergencies. It's like they are discouraging you from giving them more work. I don't let that bother me as I only report if I feel the person has really crossed a line and most likely makes a habit of it - my guess is many of these are bypassing bans since they surely can't last long acting the way they do. As an adult in the game who has a child that plays occasionally, I feel it is my place to call out this unacceptable behavior to ensure my child is not over exposed to these things. They should not be discouraging people from using it unless they appear to be abusing it. I don't run around looking for trouble and I try to observe to be sure a report is necessary and how they react to other players warning them.

This new pirates game really does seem to be bringing out the worst in many players! Its one thing to play with a group of friends and give a little ribbing during the game, but its another thing entirely to belittle and curse at players you have never played with before! I agree with daz.. as a parent I too feel obliged to report truly mean and hurtful behavior, especially when its obvious the player will not stop and doesn't care if they are hurting feelings or n ot. Besides being a parent, as an adult I feel its also my duty to set a good example in the game and not encourage the "trash talk" by joining in. Honestly I'm shocked at some of the things I've seen come out of the mouths of players I know to be adults towards other players in pirates. I think we need to keep a couple things in mind here.
1) The talk during pirates is not hidden from the staff, they see what we're saying in there too.
2) There is a person with real feelings behind every boat in there. Some of those people are quite young and hurt quite easily when harsh words are directed towards them.

I honestly do feel for the VMK staff in having to do deal with all this babysitting work and I can understand their response of "use this only for emergencies" answer. (though I too am not really sure what a virtual emergency is) However, I hope it won't discourage anyone from still reporting when you truly feel the need. When I use it I keep it brief, tell them I've used ignore and often finish with something like.. just thought you might want to be aware of this, and thanks. I don't think I've ever gotten the "only for emergency" response. I did actually get a thank you once though for reporting a really really bad room title. ::cop:

i reported someone for calling us all beaches during a pirate game and as soon i got back to the lobby i looked for them and *click* i reported them. vmk said thank you and something about making vmk a cleaner place. (and there doing a fine job don't you think? )
