I'M PREGNANT!!!!

MH and i had been trying since a little over a year, i had trouble getting pregnant with my son the first time and had to go on clomid for 4 cycles, perfect pregnancy no complications, fast forward 6 years and about a month ago i had to get a HSG test to check if my tubes were ok, part of the fertility testing they do after a year has passed of trying, well t wasn't good my left side is blocked and i would have to consider treatment for it so only my right side was working, well my doc decided to try clomid again even though OPK were comimg out positive, i was to start them this cycle so here i am waiting for my "friend" to show up so i could start, and i am now 5 days late but i t has happened before so i did not want to go thru the roller coaster of getting y hopes up only to come crashing down with a negative result, my mom says to me just humor me do a test i'll buy it...fine i give in do the test and 3 min later PREGNANT show up on the screen, i sat on the bathroom floor to cry thanking God for the miracle
now i wan to figure out a special way to tell MH that he is going to be a daddy! he adopted my son and loves him as his own but his brother just had a baby and i wanted to be able to give him the whole pregnancy/ birth/newborn experience.

any ideas???

No ideas for you, but congratulations!

Congratulations! I had a friend that gift wrapped her pregnancy test and said to her DH that is something special that he will love forever.
I was never original with telling my DH. I was too in shock to be original!! :lmao:
Have a healthy nine months!

Don't have any ideas for surprising your husband, but send you and your family Congratulations! What a wonderful way to start out the New Year.:grouphug:

:tink: Congratulations!! Wishing you and your DH the best! Can't help, on how to tell him, I heard of someone buying a plant and a book about how to care for living breathing things. When husband was perplexed w/ book and plant she proceeded to tell him about the baby.

Many congratulations to you and your family. My DH and I have been actively trying for about 2 years now for another one, but no luck yet, so I can only imagine how high on :cloud9: you are right now.

As for surprising him, you could go for an ultrasound (I'm sure ur doc would give you one rather quickly) and get a nice picture from it and then wrap that up for him and give it to him as a belated holiday gift.

Best of luck to you and have a happy and healthy 9 months!

Congratulations! Goodness I'm so happy for you.

Any way you tell DH will be special. Maybe just a nice quiet dinner just the two of you? If you guys drink, make a big show of pouring a glass of wine/beer for him and water for you? It should generate a few questions.

Or, (I can't believe I'm about to type this... its SO corny). I sometimes indulge in old episodes of bad 80s tv shows when I'm cleaning. (So embarrassing.) I saw an episode of Full House the other day when Rebecca was telling Jesse they were pregnant. She made dinner and it was Baby carrots, Baby squash, etc., etc.

Any way you do it, just have fun, and congratulations again.

Congratulations! What a special blessing!

I wrapped up my pregnancy test that the doctor did and gave it to my DH. We had no idea it would happen so soon, the doctor's appt. was just routine. So he was very perplexed when he opened it up! He didn't know what it was or what it meant!

Although, yes maybe a little corny, I like the supper of "baby" type foods-that's cute!

I am sure no matter which way, he will be very excited and will always remember how you told him!

No idea on how to tell him, but Congratulations to you both!
My DH and I have been trying for the last 4 months.
Hoping you have a healthy, happy 9 months!!

There are some great books at the bookstore on Fatherhood and pregnancy from the dad's perspective etc.... Or just What to Expect When you are Expecting, Or on the Miracle of Life etc. . . What about just getting one of those, wrapping it up with the pregnancy test and maybe also including a bib or baby t-shirt/onsie that says "Daddy's Little Angel/Boy" or something similar.

Run to the mall and find a shirt for your son that says I'm going to be a big brother! Let him "tell" your husband! Congrats!

I'm so happy for your family. I think that whichever way you decide to tell your husband will be exciting for him. Congrats!

Since you all are going to be at WDW in a couple of weeks, why not tell him you won't be riding any of the "Mountains", ie, Space, Thunder, etc this year?

Congratulations to you both.

CONGRATS!!!!!
I have an idea!
I told my DH that we were pregnant with our first with a special dinner.
Baby Back Ribs, (bought to save time) Baby Carrots, Baby Lima Beans, etc... It was so funny. We were dipping our plates and I said, would you like some baby limas? And he looked at the ribs, then the carrots and said, "Are you trying to tell me something?" lol. I cracked up and it was wonderful!
We ate on our china and I even printed up the menu on the table with the date on it in case he didn't get it at first and then it's a great momento in a baby book!

Ok, I just read this, maybe this is where I got the idea?!? lol. Man, I wonder what else is embedded in me from "bad 80's tv shows!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

CONGRADULATIONS!!!! How very exciting for you and your family! I hope you have a very safe and wonderful next year!

ALSO think this is super cute!!! :cutie:

Congratulations!!!!

As far as how to tell him - I love some of the previous ideas (the "baby" food item dinner, the gift-wrapping of the pg test, etc.) but I really love the idea of having your oldest wear a shirt (you could make it yourself with either fabric paint or the iron on sheets that you put through a computer printer) that says something about "I'm going to be a BIG brother!" and have your ds greet Dad at the door.

I wouldn't wait until the u/s and I'd want DH at the u/s too.

Hope you have a wonderful & healthy nine months!!

Congratulations to you and your DH! DW and I have a 7 mo, our first who we just took on her first trip to WDW, DW had complications with pregnancy and becoming pregnant as well, so I know how trying that can be. I don't have any ideas for you on how to tell your DH but I'm sure he will be elated, Congrats again to both of you!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
