I just got butt dialed!

HEEE! I'm laughing and getting it out of my system now, but my daughter butt dialed me from her chorus class. I listened to them sing for about 20 minutes, then listened as she walked to math class. Snore.

I'm going to have a little talk with her when she gets home, because that phone is supposed to be shut off and in her locker. I might take it off of her for a few days. She obviously didn't take it out of her pocket to check it between classes, which gives her one point in my book. I'm tempted to leave it on the rest of the day to see how long it takes her to actually look at it and hang up.

This is just one of those things where your kid does something that cracks you up, but you still have to punish them for.

Last Thursday I butt dialed my cousin while I was riding Dragon Challenge at IoA. He was sitting two seats down from me and just as we were about to be dispatched he shouted over to me "hey...your *** is calling me!"

DS, 17, is away for the week as a counselor for the local Outdoor Education program. Haven't heard from him yet other than a 4 AM butt-dial! Woke me from a sound sleep, scared me to death, and of course, there was no one on the other end.

DD, when she was a high school senior, accidentally butt-dialed a friend of mine while making out with her boyfriend! She's 25 now and still hasn't lived that one down (and she married the guy!)

Make sure that you mess with her a little before you tell her. Things like, "you know I am really glad you are singing (insert song you heard) in chorus. And it sounds wonderful, but I think the person next to you may have been a little flat."

or "Oh, did you tell Stacy about XYZ before math class today? " if you heard any conversations she may have had.

DH has done this to me. I had a phone that was always dialing when my kids were little. He would come home from work and tell about a song he heard me sing to them, or ask about something I bought, or a conversation we had. The first few times I was when he seemed to know all about what I had done that day!

Yes, butt-dialing children are hilarious until they are away at college and butt-dial you at 2 am and all you hear is noise and even though you call back repeatedly they don't answer their phone and you lay awake in bed wondering how crazy the police department in that four-hour-away college town will think you are if you ask them to drive around town and make sure your daughter is still alive while you are calling and texting all her friends numbers that you can think of! H I L A R I O U S! NOT!!!

Yea, this was the butt dial we got last week. Of course, then she finally looks at her phone and sees that we've called her 47 times--she calls us back at 3 am going, "OMG! What's wrong?!"

DH butt dialled his mother when he was out of town. The actual travel day, he turn his phone one when he got off the plane and forgot to lock the keyboard. All she heard was mum-mering, she could tell it was his voice but that was about it. She thought he had be kindnaped and throwen in a trunk somewhere. She called him after they got disconnected and he was like whats going on that you called me in the middle of the day?

Well, that went well. She really is a good kid. She thought the whole thing was hilarious, especially when I got bored listening to her math class and hung up. I'm just taking it off of her for a day because she was so good natured about it when I told her I was taking it.
