I Just Got a Pin Code Card for Most of 2010!!

I got it today too!
Horray for 40% off! Now just have to decide btwn early Dec or late Sept...

Yeah, everyone. I got one too!!!! My question is if I have already put a deposit down on a room can I use the pin discount towards that or do I have to cancel it and make a new reservation?
I feel like a kid on Christmas eve, I'm so excited!!!

I got one too... but it is the 20/30/40 one....20% is not a good enough deal to make me book, though.

Are these pin codes good on top of other disney special offers?

No. Only one code/special offer per reservation number.

Yes. Call the WDTC and have them "apply" the pin code you received to your current reservation (as long as your current dates/room is available using that code). You will not have to make a new reservation.

What is the pin code card and how do you get one? Thanks!

A pin code is a savings code exclusively for the recipient. The WDTC (Disney Destinations) sends them periodically via e-mail and snail mail. Various ways of increasing the possibility that you will receive one:

Register on the Disney site.

Book a vacation through the WDTC.

Plug-in some dates on their booking site while you are logged-in.

"Save a vacation" on their booking site.

Order the free DVD.

Disney claims that the savings pin codes they give-out are random, and from what gets reported here there really isn't much rhyme or reason to them, just a lot of speculation and assumptions. But, doing all of the things listed above will make it highly likely that eventually they'll offer you a room or package discount.

Don't forget about public discounts, they're available to everyone. www.mousesavers.com always has them listed on their site as soon as they are announced.

Good luck!

These are the steps that I took. (What WDWKook suggests) I saved several dates and resort levels and then ordered the DVD. About a week later (yesterday) I received the coveted code. I booked so fast that the CM said the code didn't even hit my account yet. They took about 45 minutes to hunt it down. It was worth the wait!

Good Morning Everyone and congrats! I just visited the disney website and saved 3 different dates for vacations. My question is- how long was it after that they sent you a code? This would be a great money saver but I am thinking that if my whole family of 4 would go it would be a better deal for me if I got the free dining for the fall time- my boys like to eat, ha!!:rotfl:

What are the odds of getting a postcard PIN and then getting an email PIN? I just want to know if those are good odds because I got a PIN a few weeks ago by postcard that most likely will "save" us for our summer trip (I was slowly waving bye bye to that one! LOL) but I REALLY want the year long one to save some money on our Dec 2010 trip. That one will break the bank! That's the one I want to save on! LOL

It took me about a week after I saved dates for the first time. I went back every day for the next 2 or 3 days and changed dates and resorts around. I also chatted with the online rep they offer you about different moderate resorts.

I'm hoping for the free dining also. We've never done that before and it seems to me like that would be the better deal and lots of fun to try some higher priced restaurants that we usually skip because of the money it costs to feed 2 teens. 2 hungry teens.

We've tried this strategy several times to no avail. Here's hoping you have better luck than we have so far. :sad2:

Thanks everybody for replying about this it would be so great if I could get one. Really want to buy DVC but this would be awsome to do before we can afford DVC. I have done most of those things on the list but haven't tried the saving vacations idea.

I got my 20/30/40 discount on Oct. 19. I did come in on a thread and mentioned how I felt I had got it. There were others doing the same, I am sure. I never did anything but save a couple of properties on my Disney site account. They were there for quite awhile and are still there I think. No dvds, no changing times and dates, no ordering maps.
I am glad to hear it worked for others too.:cool1::thumbsup2

I was allowed to apply a pin code to my current ressie.

Hey everyone! I just got one in the mail today too! I just booked the GF for February and used the 4/3 deal. From reading everyone's responses I guess I can't use the pin code?? It would be soooo nice to get an extra 40% off though...I guess that's wishful thinking;)

If you are going for only 7 nights, than the 4/3 is a better deal. But if you are going for more, than the new pin code would be better. HTH!

DH and I have officially given up trying to get the 20%, 30%, 40% PIN code. Nothing has worked for us. We've ordered maps and the DVD. We've saved several vacation packages on the account (after clearning cookies). We've chatted with a live person on the website. We've nagivated the entire website forwards and backwards. It seems we aren't destined to get the one and only PIN offer out there so far, that would make it feasible for us to travel to the World in 2010. :sad2:

We know there might be other offers down the line, but for us the urgency for receiving a PIN now is simple. If are to travel to FL next year, we need to make sure to snag some decent air fares now. The air fare for our dates will be released very soon. DH told me that if we don't book the resort stay/tickets/dining, etc. with a decent discount now, then we shouldn't book air fare. :headache: So that basically seals the deal. In my experience air fares go nothing but up as it gets closer to the travel date. Therefore, no WDW for us in 2010. :sad1:

We wish other posters here the best of luck getting whatever PIN will work for them. Hopefully there is more pixie dust blowing in your direction than it has in ours. Here's wishing you the best. pixiedust:
