you should start after last week's destination digits signal.

What does this mean?

If they only confirm a month out how can they guarantee anything? Wouldn't the room be booked? My concern is that I need to buy airfare. If I buy airfare and they confirm only a month out, what if it is all a bunch of bull? Now I am out airfare and they have my credit info. I really want to do this but I want to make sure that they actually make the reservation. Has anyone at all confirmed their reservation?

I'm no expert on this - but I can tell you from an airline perspective - when you don't book directly from the supplier (ie directly from the airline or hotel) or through a regular travel agent (ie AAA), the one you booked through "owns" the reservation until close-in to travel.

For example - I booked a trip to Disney 2 years ago through Dargal.com (they help airline employees get discounts on hotels). 2 weeks before our trip, I still hadn't received our magical express documents. I called Disney directly - and while they knew we were coming - they couldn't help us. I had to call Dargal, and have them contact Disney on behalf of us. They did - and all was fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if lastmintuetravel.com works similarly.

I called Disney and they do not have the reservation. I called LMT and they said it won't be in Disney's system until one month prior to the arrival date. They said they would send out a second email with the Disney confirmation number at that time.

Consolidators buy up blocks of rooms. (Think Orbitz, travelocity, etc.). They hold your reservation in their system until about 30 days out before putting it into the hotel's system. (RCI does this too with timeshare exchanges) I'm not sure why but they do. Your best bet--especially for any Disney hotel-- is to fax the room controller a few days before your trip with any special requests.

If you have any hesitation about this company--use a real credit card and not a debit VISA/MC.

okay, I havent read the whole thread, but I went in and registered a couple of days ago and have rec'd no email clues.

I just don't really know how it works. Does everyone get the same 15 minutes? Do you just go on and try to make reservations and see if ti is your 15 minute block?

Help!!

What is 2197 in military time--I got the 9:00 for 21 but what is 97 minutes--is that even a time in military? Reaching now.......

I dont believe there is a 97 represented LOL.. but good guess! ... how did you get that number anyhow...

Okay, signed up again for the email sub and I just got an email from them saying that my first clue is coming soon. Should I prepare what hotel I want in advance? Willit actually list hotels or just 4 star etc?

I'm going to try and book a week for a hotel near DL. If I get in on the deal, I'm going to make back-up reservations somewhere else that I can cancel w/out penalty should this deal turn out to be sour. I remember all of the problems people where having with the free airline tickets from the Dockers promotion.

I have similar concerns about giving out my cc info. What if they are really just phishing for info. From what other people found, they have some complaints on BBB. What is the old saying, if it is too good to be true...

Since the beginning of The World for $1 sale, 928 reservations have been made for less than the cost of a movie ticket! And 48% of these reservations were for high-end, luxury hotels! The 2,197 people going on these vacations are headed to 224 different destinations with Orlando, Las Vegas, New York, Cancun and Honolulu topping the list

9:28; 21:97; 2:24. ???? Am I waaaayyyy off base?? (no pun intended for you military folks who get that)

Ahh glad to see everyone is ready for another week of no sleep and numb thumbs :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just got home so I haven't read all the posts, but noticed a few people talking about their CC numbers possibly being compromised. IF that's a concern and you have a debit card, I would just go to your bank and ask for a new one, tell them you have security concerns. Most do it on the spot with no fee (mine does). :thumbsup2

Not to sound snarky, but... the following relates to this thread..HOW? Did you post to the wrong thread???

I'm posting under an alias.

I have quite a bit of CC debit due to a very extended layoff. DH is currently working at a fairly decent wage. It looks as his current job (banking industry) seems secure for the time being. I'm in school trying to get an additional degree and work part time. We have 2 cars that really are only suited for maybe 3 family members at a time...small truck and small compact like car. We are a family of 6, our van died in Oct. We have been trying to make due; but honestly it is driving me up the walls to take two cars when we need to go some where. Not to mention both cars are stick and my bad back is screaming HELP!!!!

Since Oct I have managed to save about $2000. I'm trying to decide how to use it. Do I pay off some CC debit; but honestly $2000 won't make a huge dent. Or do I spend a little more maybe an additional $2000 max and find a reliable used Van. I'm really torn. Also, should add that the small truck is a 1999 with 100,000+ with broken AC and the heat isn't working very well and we live in the north.

OK...no flames. We aren't having an issue paying more then just the minimum on the CC and up to now any extra has gone toward the CC bill. I just can't decide if it is a good idea to try to get an additional car while I have at least half or more in cash right now; or keep my fingers crossed and hope the other two cars keep running and put it off.
