I just feel terrible about how many times I have switched ADR's around!

I never switch.Once I make a reservation, its done and one more thing crossed off my to-do-list. Now,I do cancel.
As soon as I know I'm not going,I call. Its usually breakfast reservations we cancel.
Stop driving yourself crazy with all the changing!! Stick with your pick and move on to the next thing on your trip planning list! Have fun, this is vacation!!
You all picked great places and I can't wait to read about them after your trip! Have a great :tink:time!

Hi Belle!:wave2: Planning a GG for four rooms is reason enough to make changes in my opinion. It has to be quite a challenge!

Happy planning and I hope you enjoy Jiko this time. We had a fantastic dinner there in May. Guess you won't be going to Tutto?;)

Hello BCV23!!

You make me feel justified!:rotfl: You know, I would consider Tutto again just because so many people, like you, think it's great. I realize that my terrible experience there was somewhat isolated. I have read other opinions about our server, Roberto, being the worst ever at that restaurant. A bad server never helps one's overall impression! I have toyed with trying it again. I think the over-the-top pricing had my expectations really high. If I mentally let go of what they are charging (since we are on DDP) that might help. (The pricing has me expecting signature quality)

Jiko-my attitude is very positive on giving this another try. I am expecting this to be a winner for me this time as I know more what I DON'T want to order. I do not like their flatbreads! (I know...I'm strange!) I think I won't order the macaroni and cheese and steak. DH and the boys all LOVED theirs, however, and will be ordering again! The lamb shank sounds appealing--especially after reading Uncleromulus' raves about it several times. The Tanzanian purses are gone since we last dined there, but I see several items of interest for dessert.

Who knows...someday we may even give CG and AP another try! We just have not had great success with the signature dining spots.

Here is my list (some are for crowd-pleasing purposes--entertaining those who have never been to WDW before): Please make suggestions!

1. 'Ohana
2. GF Cafe (have my mother's cake ordered for this one--70th birthday)
3. Captain's Grille (this is the one spot I have toyed switching out with Spoodles, though we have enjoyed it when it was YCG)
4. Boma
5. Teppan Edo
6. Sci-Fi (paying O.O.P.)
7. Raglan Road (DH has no interest for some reason--may switch in the end)
8. LTT
9. Jiko
10. The Wave (another birthday cake here--DS's 16th)
11. Breakfast at Kona (O.O.P.)
12. B&C or Ghirardelli or the Fountain for DS's 11th birthday--ice cream only
13. Garden View Tea (maybe...trying to figure out when sisters, SIL, niece and mother would have enough appetite/time)

Believe me...I wish they couldn't tell! They can pull up every reservation you have made and canceled for your trip!

... For all of your trips.. :scared1: a couple of years ago, I made yet another reservation for LC. The CM politely laughed and said, are you actually going to eat here this time? You have made and then canceled this restaurant 5 times in 3 years.

(for the record, we did finally eat at LC)

Yep! I have had that same kind of thing happen. They couldn't look back on all 23+ trips, but they could see several trips back in time! I remember someone telling me I was a "no show" for some meal on my previous trip. That was not true. I think we got to the restaurant and it was nearly vacant and the CM didn't even ask our information, just took us to a table. I guess because we didn't officially "check in" we looked like "no shows"!

Belle5, it looks like a great lineup. Quite a nice mix. Having tea with your mother et al sounds so much fun. Good luck with that. I've often seen Red Hat groups in there enjoying it together.

Tutto is quite expensive but our experiences have been as good as most signature restaurants. We've only gone there on the ddp or deluxe ddp so that makes it feel better! But we're not planning on using a ddp on our next trip and my husband still wants to go back to Tutto. He may be in for sticker shock.:goodvibes

Oh, and what is LC, Trimom?

I know an answer! lol...finally. But I've been lurking a while before registering.

LC=Le Cellier

I have called 2 I drop, It is my first time going to WDW and God Knows I have called and changed and changed and changed , and I do think I have finally got it, But if I have to call again I will This is my first:flower3: trip and it does not bother me in the least, and I am sure it does not bother them, If so I have never been able to tell and if it did oh well! I even have the number in my cell phone, I think everyone can agree with me this is an important trip and we all want to have the best time that we can have!

Well put! I was feeling embarassed but I think you're right!

Oh, my! As a 'newbie' here, I'm so happy to see this thread! Although my cruising started years ago - it was long before it was this hard to get a dining reservation. We booked our trip in April and I just had no clue about ADR's at all! When I started to surf the internet looking for information, I was shocked!

Then frustrated when I called and it seemed like we'd get nothing decent. :(

We arrive 9-13-08. We have:

Crystal Palace at 8:20 9-14
Hoop Dee Doo Review at 9: 30 on 9-14

Ohana at 7:20 9-15
Akershus - Dining with the Princesses at 7:30 9-15

The Wave at 8:40 9-16
50's Prime Time Cafe at 3:35 9-16
Chef Mickey at 9:10 9-16

1900 Park Fare at 11:10 9-17
Rainforest Cafe at 4:15 9-17

Kona Cafe at 8:30 9-18

I changed these around 3 times already in a week....

So...experts? How did I do? Is this 'too much'? We're on the Land and Sea so we didn't get free dining and we didn't do the dining package. There are 5 of us - me, my husband, my daughter, her husband and my six year old granddaughter.

:welcome:

I do think that 3 sit down meals on 9/16 is too much, in my opinion. Table Service (TS) take extra time and you should plan on 1 1/2 - 2 hrs time lost from parks for each one. I do a TS dinner every day and a few TS breakfasts sprinkled in. If you do not mind losing the park time, then go for it!

I have the number in my cell phone also. You never know when you may need it! Also in the parks! Last year we had to cancel one of our ressies and I called from inside the park to do it. Didn't want to have a surprise charge on my credit card for not calling to cancel. :goodvibes

Hello to all ADR switchers! :lmao: I am in the same boat. I am booking for a grand gathering of 15 people in four rooms and tring to make all happy. I can't count how many times I've switched. As of now I have:
Coral Reef, LC, Kona, O'hana, Sci Fi, 50's PTC, and LTT.
Don't forget about the cancel, trade board. It may keep us from calling so much!:rotfl2:

Thanks! You might be correct about 3 TS means in one day....I'm going to have to think about this one.

So I've already talked with 4 different CMs this morning! :lmao: Each time I get a different one, thank God!!! I am usually so organized, but then I keep looking at my days and realize there's something missing! I ask after every reservation I make if there's an availability at 1900 PF for between 5-6:30...no luck yet! I'll just try a few more times before we go (I'm sure I'll find some more changes to be made):rotfl2: ....I have 3 months, hopefully some cancellations will happen and we'll be able to slip in.... Isn't it amazing how everything is filled so soon?!

I'm right there with you!! I call the dining line every single day to see if a 1900 Park Fare dinner opens up around 6:00 Sunday Nov. 23. Of course, there is nothing............I have an ADR for that day, but our flight has been pushed back by 3 hours and now we are in jeapordy of not making it to our hotel to check in and then over to the GF for our reservation...........darn it! I should have made the ADR for around 6:00 at the 180 day mark, but I was trying to maximize our disney time in the parks..........so much for overthinking!!:lmao:

I actually went in and made a thread asking people to PM me if they cancelled for the time I need....doesn't hurt to try! I just have to bump up my thread each month a couple times. I'm sure someone will get annoyed, but I want to cover myself anyway I can!

I keep calling back to switching too!!! I am going insane, trying to figure out what to do at the moment. I called on Sunday and got LeCellier for lunch  which totally changed all my plans

Never feel bad for switching. Disney is there to provide you with a great service, so that you have a fantastic and enjoyable trip. The people on the Disney Dining phone line are there to help you at all costs, if they can. That is what they are paid to do. I'm sure they'd rather you call them 10+ times and be totally satisfied with your reservations than end up going to restaurants you don't want to go to.

I always ring up and have a nice chat with people on the phone whilst booking my ADRs. I may spend a long time talking but all the CMs I've encountered are more than happy to listen to what I'm looking for, help me book and even make their own suggestions.
