After reading the sad park hours posted for June, I just had to e-mail Disney and complain. I'm not visiting until August, but it's not good for guest morale to see Walt Disney World closing at 7 PM in summer. It simply sends out the message that WDW is suffering, which in turn makes guests wonder if they're spending their hard earned vacation dollars in a deteriorating park. If I should get a response, I'll post it here.

While it's sad to see WDW close at 7pm on some nights (or before night for that matter), it's much easier to do this than to layoff a couple hundred (thousand?) CMs, make (terrible) headlines, and then be faced with the cost of training new ones.

You'd have to be living under a rock to not know that the economy is bad (but getting better) and Disney, just like any other company, is feeling the effects of it. They can't use pixie dust to free themselves from it either.

Enjoy your time elsewhere by going to PI, touring the resorts, Downtown Disney, the Marketplace, mini-golf, Boardwalk, etc. etc.

There's so much more to do than just the parks.

I too am going in August and it will be my first time. I have been hearing a lot of the regular visitors talking about the hours being shortened lately and I will agree its a bit disheartening as I feel almost as if I will be missing out on something because I'm going when things are tough all over. I can only hope they don't cut out all the extras i.e. e-ride nights and spectros etc during the slower last two weeks of August. Here is to keeping the fingers crossed.

As someone who is personally taking a temporary cut in salary for the thrid time for the sake of a hard hit business I know all too well the state of the economy and how widespread and reaching the problems are. Here is to keeping the toes crossed that in fact it is getting better.

If the eliminate EE, we are definately staying off-site. That's what happened during our last trip. They closed POR & FQ & then eliminated EE. It sucked!!
