I just don't get some parents *Update*

The little girl we took with us did great. It was her first time being away from home and she couldn't have been more excited. I personally wouldn't have sent my DD but it all worked out for the best.

My DD loved performing. :cheer2: Coming from a small town we were out of our league. THe other 3 squads in her group were doing tumbling and stunting. It was amazing to see what these little ones could do. We had a priceless moment for our family that I will never forget. When they called DD's squad for 4th place she jumped up and screamed. SHe was so excited. Since she is the "captain" the oldest girl she got to walk up and claim the trophy. Seeing her walk back with the trophy above her head with the biggest smile on my face brought tears to my eyes.

Congratulations to your dd and her team. We had a competition last week at Orlando at TD Waterhouse. My dd's(9yo) team took first. Also the jr and Sr teams from her gym took first. the Jr and Sr teams competed the next day at Disney (her coach felt it too much for the littles to compete 2 days in a row), and they took first then also. Such a wonderful time for our gym.

Isn't it great to see them doing something they love that is fun? As far as tumbling and stunting go, my dd's team has 3-5 year olds that they incorporate as much as they can into the stunting and they can all do a front roll into standing. They are so funny and adorable. However next year they do plan to separate the teams so as not to have such a large age difference.

Glad you and your dd had a good time along with the other little girl. I must say though, no way my dd would be allowed to go with some other family. Different strokes I guess.

That is what is so great about little kids in competitions..they really don't care if they win or come in last...they just had tons of fun! My girls competed in dance at a young age...we wouldn't change it for the world. Great experiences and character builders.
