DD has worked very hard pursuing her acting. Her show airs. Of course, being the proud mom, I tell everyone I know. Now, DD is embarrassed that I told people. I just don't get it. Why would she want to be on a show if no one watches it? She watched it the first night, but hasn't watched it since. She says she doesn't like watching herself. Parenting can be very confusing!

She is a teenage girl, it doesn't always make sense, even to her. (That much I remember from being one myself!) Only 10 to 12 more years for me and I will be :confused3 right with you. :goodvibes

Alot of actors say they don't like looking at themselves. I'm sure it's the sign of great talent!

What show???? Can we see it????

Lol, I thought the same thing. But are we not allowed to ask so as to not make Feralpeg's DD more embarassed? Oh, the decisions. :)

shes lying. she wants ya to tell everyone :teeth:

Haha! I can totally relate to that! Both of my daughters have done a lot of community theatre and a few years ago my youngest daughter auditioned for a part in a local Amtrak commercial and she got the part. She even had a few lines to speak.

Daughter couldn't wait for the commercial to air and when it finally did, she wouldn't watch it and was horrified and embarrassed whenever anyone mentioned seeing it! Go figure!

I don't care if she is embarrassed, I'm telling!

It is called "Retro News". It is currently airing on The Smile Of A Child network. It is a new network and is not being carried many places. Until cable providers pick it up, it can be seen online at www.smileofachildtv.org. It airs each night at 10pm Eastern.

In January, it should begin to appear on the TBN flagship network. In March, it will appear on two of the Inspiration network channels and the new NRB Network.

Now, I'm not telling her I told you. If so, I will really be in the doghouse.

Kids! Go figure. I don't know why she finds it odd that I would tell. I always tell everything I know. She should know by now that nothing in her life is private! LOL!

Yep, she's a teenager! I remember conversations like that with my mom ;)

I bet she is awesome!!!

I'll bet she wants millions of random people to watch and enjoy her. Friends and family will always tell you you're great even if you aren't. :confused3

Very cool, I hadn't heard anything about this new network, it looks great though! We'll have to try to watch her show! Congrats to her!

Interesting. Read the website about the network. I have to say, its easier to be anonymous than obvious. My son did some modeling when he was younger. Now at 11, he doesn't want anyone to know about it. He just rolls his eyes when someone mentions it now.

I did theater when I was a teen --same thing. Hated to watch myself and was super critical.

Its normal. Dont worry.

This sounds normal to me, most actors don't like seeing themselves perform. I used to act when I was younger (from 4-14) and I hated to see my performances, I think most actors are just too critical of themselves. Good luck to your DD! :)

I think it's normal. When I was a music major in college, I was far too embarrassed to play for friends and family, but I loved showing off in front of others!

I'm the same way with writing now. I'm a pretty decent writer, but I won't show anyone close to me (except DH) my work, but I'll share it with anybody else.

we have afriends who is a very good drummer and performer, can sing, is actually the leader of a really good band that is starting to get statewide notice and has been asked to go to an a&r show soon, yet he refuses to sing in church, and has to be coerced into helping out in public with any thinghe might be recognized in,,, he would much rather play to 1000 strangers than 10 ppl he knows.

Let me share a story with you...DH is a very private person. His mother loves to tell everyone his business. She is proud of him, but he likes to keep his accomplishments under wrap. When we go to her development the poor guy has to deal with questions and such from her neighbors. It has really turned into a sore-spot with the two of them and has affected their relationship. Please consider your DDs feelings.

My DS plays guitar and the only time we ever get to see him play is when we promise to sit in the back and pretend we don't know who he is. Dh has never seen him play in public.
