i got so excited seeing a DING fare between Philly & MCO that I booked the wrong way. I booked for us to start our vacation MCO-PHL instead of the other way around
they told me i can exchange those tickets for the correct ones and pay the difference, but it's $150 more! do i have to do this right away? can i wait and see if another fare pops up over the next few weeks?
i am so so stupid. :badpc:
TIA

Wow, $150 seems steep, is that what SWA cust service said? I thought they can give you a credit towards future travel? Perhaps I'm wrong because I haven't had to change a DING fare but that seems pretty high. :)

:grouphug: , we all make mistakes!

i called again and they offered me a refund cos i cancelled 12 minutes after booking!!! oh thank heavens. i really didn't think they would do that becos it was a DING fare! :thumbsup2

Can't you rebook now since the ding is still active?

that's what i wanted to do, but then found out the DING only had morning flights for MCO-PHL. to get a flight from PHL-MCO, which is what i wanted, i would have to fly out after 6pm. we'd like to go in the morning - otherwise we'll lose a day at WDW.

That makes sense. I take the earliest flight down and latest back. I'm usually at WDW by 10-11AM and leave for the airport around 4PM. It's like getting 2 extra days.

i agree! i learned my lesson last time - i took a midafternoon flight back that meant I had to leave WDW for the airport around 3pm. i did not buy a park ticket for that day as I figured it would be a waste to only spend half a day in a park. we ended up in DTD where it poured rain, my friend who was with my was not into shopping so he was grouchy, and there weren't enough things there to distract me from the very sad fact that i would be leaving WDW that afternoon! we managed to get an 8pm flight home for this trip - much better :thumbsup2

I also booked PHL to MCO backwards. I was so happy for a few brief minutes!

I took the credit, DH is booking a trip soon so I knew it would get used.

I booked on Spirit out of AC for convienience, only one ticket so it isn't too bad.

Check out my thread on this subject, SW refunds what not to do. I called right away and spent about 45 mins on the phone, asked to talk to someone else and they finally fixed it for me, because I had just done it. Try to call, call soon though, and stay on the phone even when they keep telling you they can't do anything, ask to speak to someone else.

ETA: Sorry, I didn't finish reading, I see you have it fixed already.

We are heading down in the afternoon, now I am wishing we would have done an early morning flight too, oh well, there's always next time.
