I just can't take this any longer!!!!

Anyone think that this delay might bring bigger discounts for January??? It is already a slow time of year and most people probably wouldn't deal with this hassle and would just travel somewhere else. Wishful thinking I am sure but something good should come out of waiting until September!

Disney is REALLY trying to get the 08 rates out asap, but that still may be as late as mid Aug. I do not think it will be as late as Sept. The changes for next year will be pretty minor. I believe one small change in the dining plan and then the fact that the room rates are going to vary on weekends and weekdays. The room rates over the past couple years have changed very little and I expect the same for 08. If you take the 07 room rate and add 40 a person per nt for 10+ and 11 a person per nt for dining and then the 07 ticket rates you will have a VERY good idea of what the 08 rate will be.

OK, am I just not reading this right?? So basically you're saying that if you were paying $179 per night (we are for family suite) we would have to add $40 per person, per night that's about what the 08 rates would be? That means 07 rates would be $179 x 5 =$895 and 08 would be $259($179+$80) x 5 =$1295! That's an increase of $400 over 5 nights which is a 45% rate increase??? The dining plan will now be approx $50 adult and $23 per child?

If I'm reading this wrong, somebody please help me out :confused3

I think the previous poster was referring to the cost of the dining plan increasing to $40 per person (over 11) per night, up from the 2007 adult dining rate plan that is around $38/night per adult. So, according to the poster, it's probably going to add $2/day for each adult on the dining plan, and around $1/day for each child.

Holy cow!!! I was thinking it was pushing the time quite a bit for the rates, but now I am getting downright nervous!! This is like a major unveiling-I hope it's worth it. I will probably go with the week of the 20th for sure now, just to push it a little farther out. I guess I should res. a room now. One ?- if I book our room and the rates drop, do I get the new price, or am I stuck with what I pay for today?:surfweb: This is killing me!!!

Does anyone have the email address that I too can send an email to Disney?
I've updated my profile last year to recieve emails, updates ( I checked every box!) and have not recieved anything... not a thing...for over a year.( I used to get a weekly email with recipies and stuff for the kids to do , before we got a new computer .
I know my email will except Disney , because we did get a birthday email , but that's it. And the boxes are DEFINATLY checked to recieve emails...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's what I originally thought at first, but in the post it says " and add 40" :confused3

Like all of you I am getting very frustrated waiting for the 08 rates. I noticed on the last two posts that children 11 and older are considered adults, I thought it was 10. Can someone clarify that for me.

Children 10 and up are still considered adults( charged as adults). If not, I have been charged way too much for the past 6 years.:) If I did the dining plan with my kids, I would have had to pay adult prices. They never wanted to be limited to only the childeren's menu.

Thanks :thumbsup2!! I thought it was 10 but seen 11 on the other posts thought maybe it had changed. My son is the opposite, he prefers most of the kids menus, he is a Disney Adult this year, luckily my DD is still a Disney child and they can switch meals.

I personally recommend that you make a room-only ressie for 2008 just to make sure you have the room you want. Especially if you want to stay at a popular resort. I was able to book the Contemporary with the room I wanted but most of the standard room with the MK views are gone unless you want conceirge because that I believe is still available.

And to be honest, I was basically the president of the club that was frustated that the rates have not come out yet for 2008 but I resign my position as of yesterday because now I know I have a room at WDW and it is guarenteed!! All I have to do now is add a package when the rates come out. And by the look of things of what ppl are saying that the rates will probably go up only on the weekends and weekdays so I am not worried at all anymore! Such a great feeling knowing that I have a room reserved. :woohoo:

About the dining plan, that sounds awesome if it is only a $2 increase per adult, I think that is a good increase, how for sure is that price?

Okay, so add me to the list of posters who went ahead and booked a room only reservation. I was afraid that, if I didn't, I wouldn't get the resort I wanted.

After talking with Disney reservations, I am glad that I booked. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for 10 days. Because we will be paying almost $1,000.00 to upgrade from the CBR to WL, we're having to stay in a standard view room.

The CM told me that the number of standard view rooms at the WL is small and they are taken up very quickly. So, I'm glad I went ahead and booked because if I had to add any more money to the already $1,000.00 more, we would have had to bump back down to a moderate resort.

The CM did tell me that they are expecting the rates to come out mid-August which I, truly, believe is accurate. I booked our last two year's visits on August 15th.

As far as rate increases go, the CM said she couldn't know for sure. She was kind enough to check the computer system to see how much a room went up from 2006 to 2007. The WL standard view room went up $16.00. When I asked about the dining plan and tickets, she said she had had no word at all.

She did say that annual increase is usually 6%. That helps me tremendously in planning.

Another note, if the dining plan goes up just $2.00 per adult person, I'll still be happy. We paid a little over $800 for the dining plan last year. I saved all my tickets just to see if it was worth the money and, let me tell you, it definitely was. We ate over $1,400.00 in food during our stay!

Hope this information helps someone! Lisa

I think this is my most frustrating Disney vacation to plan. I will admit that part of it is that I am more informed due to this great forum and that makes me be more picky about pricing, ADRs, etc.

We do have a room only at POP for Jan 1-7th. and finished booking our ADRs but can't get pricing or dinning plan (in other words the package) and am tried of checking the internet several times a day!

Come on Disney!

Just wanted to let you in on something more than one CM has told me. The Disney website is updated every evening at Midnight. Meaning, if the rates aren't posted in the morning when you check them, they won't be posted at all that day.

I am sooo with you.... I cant take it anylonger... i want to book our trip sooooo bad!!!!!!!!!!!! I check on line everyday... we have called a few times and have been told a different thing everytime we have called.... I just want to book are trip!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!! LOL....

Do you already have a resort in mind you plan on staying at? Because as I stated in my previous post that once I called and booked a room-only reservation, I felt SOOOO much better, now I can be more patient waiting for the packages to come out. At least if you have a room booked, there is a starting point and you can go from there. Just a bit of adivce if you want to ease the frustration and the waiting. :thumbsup2

I had 3 resorts in mind when I called Disney and the CM gave me prices on all the resorts that I was looking into, including the kind of room I wanted and the view. :cool2:
