I have a solo trip planned for Disney May 20-30. I cannot do it. I had one planned for this past Oct. things came up....had to cancel made them for Dec...I got sick. Could not go. so now I have the plane tix and made payemnts on my resort.......I cannot do it.

I am not use to traveling alone. My daughter always came with me. or my ex husband.
I think If I go I am going to get very depressed.....even at Disney..
I want to go...but with someone...not alone. I have been alone to much lately and cannot stand it!!!!

thanks for listening! :guilty:

Go. Consider it your liberation. Go alone, meet people, sleep as late as you want, ride the rides you like, have fun. Maybe see if any disers will be in town then and meet for drinks.

I did Dinsey solo and had the best time!

You can do everything at your own pace. Try doing some of the tours. Check the single traveler board and see if anyone else is going around time.

i would totally go alone. you will probably meet someone. or see if someone else is going solo on the boards at the same time maybe you could meet up with them. i know it would be weird but you'll still be at the happiest place on earth!

You should go. You will probably love it. You can spend as much time as you want just browsing through shops and looking at all the little details.

And like others have said, there will probably be at least one or two other DISers there and you could meet up for a drink or a snack together. :flower:

Honey, it's not a test. Don't make yourself miserable about it. If you really feel like you can't do it, then don't. It's that simple. Now, having said that, I too had to learn how to do things when my daughters weren't available and I had an exDH. Yes, it was different, but I'll tell you something - I was so proud of myself when I did it. And it was so much fun to be at Disney!!!! It's one of the easiest solo things to do - and when you have done it, you can say about everything else that is hard in your life, "Yes, but if I got to Disney World and back by myself, then I can do this too." And really, you can do it. This is the best thing to come out of my divorce - well, this and the fact that I'm free of that $%#&#$&# - the knowledge that I can function on my own. It is extremely liberating!

I took numerous solo trips to WDW before we moved here. Every single one was fabulous! You can do what you want, when you want. You can sleep late or get up at the crack of dawn. You can talk to people. I've found that 99.9% of people I strike up a conversation with are so nice. A few years ago I even got adopted by a family who included me in their group. We met at EPCOT and ended up spending time at MGM watching Fantasmic.

While I was alone at the parks, I was never lonely. Now that we live here, I still enjoy going up there by myself. It's a great way to recharge your batteries. :goodvibes

I really recommend a solo trip and I hope you will change your mind and go.

Go, go, go! My single brother, 37 won't go anywhere (meaning vacationing) by himself. I feel bad that he misses out on a lot because he's always waiting to have someone go with him. I keep telling my dh that for my Birthday I want to go back to WDW by myself!

You should go. Think of all the things you can do alone.
Ride in the Single Rider lane
Walk around the World SHowcase as Slowwwww or as Fast as you want.
Eat when and where you want
Go to whichever Park you when on whichever day you want
You could go to a Spa and get a Massage and Get a Manicure.
YOu could Ride the Monorail alllllllll day and no one will ever say " Are we there Yet?"
You could just stroll along and take it alllllllll in at your own pace.

Sometimes Being A Lone Isn't being LONELY!!!
GO PAMPER YOURSELF ENJOY YOURSELF>

OH yeah and Take a trip over to the Solo and Single Traverls Board those guys are great and they really know how to do Disney SOLO!!!

This is the sweetest post :goodvibes

to OP...Good luck with your decision!!

I know the feeling, the thought of traveling alone scares me as well!

You've been given some excellent info here, and I agree that you should give it a try! Who knows, you may love it! :goodvibes

:goodvibes :grouphug:

Here is my :cheer2: :cheer2: for you!

You can do this :) I KNOW you can!!

I get just like that before something big, I truly dislike being alone sometimes. BUT I know I have to do it for my own sanity and I always feel so much better later for following through.

If you arent ready, I can totally understand that sweetie, but if its just a case of the nerves... know that we believe in you and we KNOW you can do it!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Check out the solo trip board. Chances are that you can meet other Dis-ers and hang out a bit. While you are wise to be cautious, WDW is a pretty safe place to travel solo(for one thing you couldn't be completely alone if you tried). I have done a few days at Disney by myself(I'm a guy and I was there on business) and while I missed having my family along, I did have a good time. :earsboy:

oh...you guys are making this so hard for me!!! I was there last May with someone...he just wanted to drink  we were in Clearwater first..we then headed over to Disney...this seemed to hamper his drinking so he left me there and flew home.
so I have done 4 nites solo.
and I did enjoy it.
but it is just that I am alone all the time...and all my good freinds are married and have "normal lifes" and then there is me! so no one can go wtih me.
DD is working and cannot take time off.
I do remember the feeling "safe" when I was in Disney by myself! I wanted to do PI this time thou,,,and will not do that solo.
I guess I will have to still think about it.
Thanks for all your help!! :goodvibes

disneygals - thanks so much for that really nice comment. When I was sitting in the carpool line this afternoon, I thought, "Oh, my God, that poor woman. First she's scared and lonely and now I've made her throw up with my smarmy answer!" But I did really mean it, and I have been in those shoes...

To OP - Girl , get up off the sofa and get to Florida. I can promise you that planning a trip by yourself is a whole lot more fun than being left alone by some drunk. I wouldn't go to PI alone either, but there's a whole world (haha, get it, "world"?) for you there. My friend, who doesn't get Disney, always says, "Why don't you just stay home?" when I tell her I might spend a whole day at the resort not doing much of anything. But it's MY time, and it's what I want to do. I really hope you'll think about it - I've taken three solo trips and plan many more!!!!
