camera. It comes with a rechargable battery - are companies no longer using regular batteries?

Some cameras come with brand-specific rechargeable batteries. I just see it as a way for them to get more money out of me!

However, I do use regular AA rechargeable batteries in all my cameras now. (Like Energizer or Duracell or Rayovac). It's great to be able to have a few sets of 4 (what my camera needs) in the bag and then put them on a battery charger when I'm done. Saves TONS of money, too!

I also use rechargeables for CD players, Wii remotes, regular (TV) remotes and anything else that uses batteries.

The rechargeables are SO much easier. Get a second battery and you can have one charging and one in the camera all the time. My camera uses regular batteries and DD has a camera specific rechargable. She always has a battery ready and I find myself running to the store to get them whenever I need my camera.

I bought this for dd14 2 years ago. The lens is stuck open, and I get some weird lens error message. I googled it, and apparently a thousand others have the problem as well. The only way some have fixed it was by banging the camera around (didn't work for us). So, she has no camera.
