There is just something about having some "extra" points sitting around in your account.:goodvibes I have been thinking about going to WDW around Labor day, the weather is nice and the parks are not crowded.
Airtran has had a pretty good rate of $69 each way so I told myself that when the 7 month booking for Labor Day came up I would try and book the BCV. I am going solo so I just need a studio.
I've been going back and forth about going down on Sunday or Monday which is Labor Day. So I did not call when MS opened this morning, I ended up calling around at 12:00 this afternoon.
I spoke to Mandy who was very nice and she told me that there was availability and did I want to book, I said of course! As I was on the phone with her, I went online and booked my airfare so now I am good to go!
I am so excited, I love being able to walk to Epcot and DHS.

Congratulations. This is great news! I booked BWV this morning for Sunday - Friday that same week. I was able to get a 1 bed standard view, which is hard to get. I booked at BWV because of the proximity to DHS & Epcot too.

I've stayed at BCV and just love their pool. Enjoy your planning.

Planning is half the fun. Now that I've gotten my feet wet with securing another resort other than my home resort I'm hooked.

I just called MS after reading your post. We have had a wl for BWV. After I called the CM put me on hold to call and check something. Seems that my wl was being confirmed as we were on the phone! (Or was in a status to be confirmed or something...) Anyways, they pushed the button to put it through. YEA!!:cool1:

ETA: We'll be there starting 5/30, so that's why your post gave me hope!

Helenk,
I'll also be at BCV 9/4 to 9/9
I'm sure you'll love it there, assuming it's your first time at BCV
Hope you enjoy your stay.
You can find me in the hot tub each morning between 6 and 7, then it's off to the golf course weather permitting, Then perhaps Typhoon Lagoon after golf to cool off. Then do it all again the next day.

It will be my first stay at BCV, my daughter and I stayed at the YC in 2001 and we loved the location.
I really enjoy how laid back my vacations are now that I own at DVC, I have stopped the commando type visits. I plan some relaxing at the pool, and getting my exercise by walking to and from DHS each morning. I love trying to race the boats.

The crowds are small that time of year but the weather is miserable. It's just as hot, humid & unbearable as it is in July & August - so be prepared for that if this is your first Sept visit!

I've been to WDW in September a few times, so I know it can be hot and humid.
I guess I've been lucky so far, as the weather during my September stays have been no where near as bad as going in late June or July.
I like getting up early and going for the morning EMH, then I take a break in the afternoon I like going to the pool, taking a swim and relaxing. Once it cools down in the evening I am back out again.

We were there this past Labor day week and it was wonderful. No crowds but very, very hot. It's a trade-off. :thumbsup2

Actually, I was able to book Labor Day a couple of years ago just 2 days before! I was amazed, but our airline was on strike, and the only thing I could get was something a day ahead of when our scheduled travel was to be. So I called "just in case" something was available, and I was able to extend our 1 bedroom by adding Labor Day.

BTW, I agree that it is MISERABLE temperature wise. Crowds were okay, but the weather made us reconsider ever doing that again. We did do it once more so we could be there for our 35th anniversary, but will not ever do that again.

I dont' mind the heat and humidity as long as I'm prepared. The first year I went over the 4th of July, I said never again in the summer. But scheduling gets in the way sometimes and I ended up going twice at the end of June and once in July.
I think when you go knowing what to expect you can schedule your day accordingly.
I have alot planned this year, a cruise in April, ABD Italy vacation in May and then WDW in December. I decided I wanted to fit in another trip before my December trip. September fit the bill since its not the worst part of the summer and the points needed are low.

Congratulations!! You will love BCV. We got moved due to some renovations at BWV's last October and really enjoyed our stay. We will be over at the BWV in a Boardwalk View studio that same weekend. I was very happy there was availablity - they had standard, preferred and Boardwalk view available!

Hopefully, we will have good weather. :)

Kelly
