I hurt my husband's feelings....

.... yesterday was my birthday and he bought me a really nice (really expensive sweater) Problem is that it's red. I look HORRID in red (makes my skin look yellow) I will never wear it and since it was so expensive I figured the best thing to do was to be honest. He took it well but I could tell his feelings were hurt. I guess we are going to take it back Friday night and I'm going to pick something else out. I feel bad though.

Maybe you can get the same sweater but in a different color. I had to return clothes because DH seems to think I am smaller than I am , better than bigger than I am, but I always try to still keep the same clothing just in a different size.

Awwww, I've had that happen to me as well. Its one of those things where you have to way the price of the gift vs. hurting their feelings.

I look horrid in most reds too. Poor DH doesn't know I'm a SPRING, and SPRING's can't wear red.

Just exchange it for another color. Tell him you love the sweater, but would look better in another color.
I'm a spring too, Snoopy! BUT, I do wear reds(around Christmas), just certain shades of it though.

I look sexy in Red with my dark brown hair and eyes. I have aon a new sweater today, almost a fushia (sp) not sure if this is my color but I wanted to changed my color palet for a bit. Just try to exchange it for another color then by your husband something you know he won't like so youll be even. LOL

After twenty plus years of marrage I have learned to not get upset when I buy my wife clothing as a present if she does'nt like it and always keep the receipt.

Maybe after you've exchanged the sweater, you could pick out something red from the lingerie dept (That'll make him feel better!)

I once returned some slippers my husband bought me in college and he still teases me about them to this day. I just didn't think I would look cute walking around the dorms in giant Tweety Bird slippers
