if not, please let me know and I will copy it over to wherever. Anyway, can someone PLEASE explain this DVC memember or whatever? Is this a timeshare deal or something? DH and I are seriously considering making a once a year (if not more) trip to FL, even if its not always a FULL Disney trip, gets expensive with 4 kids... can anyone give me ideas? And what is the deal with the *DVC* timeshare presentation? We have 15 days so this wouldn't be a huge inconvience. Anything good out of the deal? Thanks for explaining to a newbie... Steph

Do not expct anything from DVC,they most of the time do not offer anything for their tour but sometimes they offer a lunch for you.we took the tour and purchased last year and did get a free meal voucher and used it for beaches and cream.if you plan on going to Disney every year it is something you may want to look into.i am still very new to this,so i cannot offer much info.try posting over on the DVC board.they can answer every question you have.

DVC is the Disney Vacation Club, Disney's timeshare. Go to the DVC forum here on DISboards and click on the Frequently Asked Questions link. Also, read through some of the other threads posted by people who are looking for more info about about DVC from members. If you still have questions after reading the FAQ, just ask...members (myself included) will be happy to help you out!!!

If you are planning to go to WDW every year, DVC is something you and your family would enjoy for the next 39 years. As the above posters have said go to the DVC boards and ask questions.
We have been members for 4 1/2 years, and it is the best purchase we have ever made.

Here's the link to the DVC FAQ:

Take the tour when you go to Disney World. There are people at booths at all the parks and resorts who will gladly help you and arrange the tour.

Have Fun!

DVC is WDW's timeshare. Yo'll find a lot of information over on the DVC board. But here's a little info. For a group your size, you'll always need a two bedroom unit. That ranges in points at the current DVC resort for sale BCV 270 points to 462 points for a full week per year DVC is currently sell for $84 per point, so you're looking at a minimum investment of $23k. There are also annual dues of approx $4 per point, which would work out to a minimum of $1080 per year. There is financing available for up to 10 years with a 20% deposit. The current interest rate is around 11%. I'm a DVC member and I love it!!! We own 275 points at VWL and it's the best investment we ever made!!

DVC is great but it will not be your cheapest option. There are other timeshares that will be much cheaper within a few miles of WDW. Some are closer to Sea World and Universal. The cheapest option would likely be a South Africa purchase for under $1000 wiht $120 or so per year dues. ADDED - you could then trade into Orlando.

To purchase DVC is for those that would go and pay to stay on property at Moderates or above and go most years. You could rent DVC from a member for cheaper than you could from Disney itself.

If your looking for those 3-4 day deals where you do the timeshare tour as part of it, you have the wrong timeshare. There are others that do that if you qualify. I think Marriott requires a min. income of $75000 per year to offer this type of deal and others are between $45,000 & 60,000. Besides it's not worth it just to get a cheap vacation as there are other cheap options. Consider renting frm another timeshare owner at one of the off site resorts if this is yoru goal.

Also if you think you are interested rent points from a DVC member for a stay and see if it is something that you would like to own a part of.
