I went to the Universal site today and saw a Mastercard deal. Use your Mastercard and get a FREE UPGRADE AND 5th night free. We got a pool view room at HRH for $1300.

No any Mastercard will do! We have decided to bump it up to a Deluxe Room at HRH in hopes that when we arrive they will give us a courtesy upgrade to Club Level. I have a Lowes Reward card so I hope we can get the upgrade.

I would book the standard room and get upgraded to a deluxe. A free upgrade to club level isnt something I would count on or even try for. It seems common for Loews to offer the upgrade to club level and charge $100 per night for it no matter what the rate booked. If you do go for it please let us know the outcome!

Depending on your dates this doesnt seem like a great deal at all. It would work out to over $300 a night for a poolview room at HRH. Or $250 plus a night w/o the deal. Just wondering if AAA or APH rate is better.

What are your dates? Usually the upgrades from deluxe are to a suite and not club, so I wouldn't count on it.

No it isnt over $300 per night. $1300 for 5 nights is $266 per night. We are going June 18-23.

Portofino is $239/night for your dates. That is the AAA rate.

I agree that would mean that your 5th night isnt free, but when you compare the rates to 5 nights without the free night the rate is:

$324 per night with the total being $1822.50 including taxes.

You should check into it because you can probably get a membership for about $60 and it will not only save you on your hotel rate but you also get 10-15% off on food and merchandise at the parks. For five nights you would be saving $150. It doesn't cost nearly that to join AAA.
