When I applied at this other school for my new degree program, I had to provide both current name (married) and my maiden name.

All my documents I got prior to enrollment had my married name on them. But when I went onto the enrollment services online to register for my first class, *they* had me under my *maiden* name. The specific college I'm going into I know has me under my married name.

I've been trying to reach a **** *HUMAN* since before Christmas trying to get this fixed.

Finally reached someone today, and she is adamant that the only way this could have happened is that I applied under my maiden name. Um, no. So she says I have to go through admissions to "find out what I put on my application", but the only way I'm likely to fix this is get a name-change form and come in with our marriage certificate to change what should have been right in the first place.

Why can't anyone do their jobs right any more?

I hope you get it straightened out. When I transferred from my community college to a university last year, they messed up everything on my application. They switched my info with the 'emergency contact' info. They had my mom's address and phone number as mine. They also messed up my birthday, instead of 07/24, it was 07/27.

It took a while, but we finally got it all straightened out. They also wanted to lay the blame on me, but excuse me, I know where I live and I know my birthday!!!

Well, I found out what happened. In some ways, it makes sense, in other ways it's totally idiotic.

What they do is regardless of what name you register/apply with, whatever name was on your transcript for your bachelor's degree is what they register you with. Only way to fix that is to go through the name-change process, which means digging out the marrage license and my SS card.

Okay, hello... if I *wanted* all my records to be back under my maiden name, I would have *applied* under my maiden name.

you should have done what I did...
was a Smith....married a Smith..

nice and simple

What a pain! With the college I have my maiden name in my records as my middle name. I know of 2 other people in town with my first and last name. I found that out from doctors' office getting records confused! My dermatologist and my OB. My OB's office tried to bill me for a visit the other person had. What a mess that was. It took them over 6 months to straighten it out and bill her. I know of at least another in the county because when I bought and sold homes I had to sign affidavits stating I'm not that particular person. I guess she has some problems. So after those experiences, I went with first name, maiden name, last name for my college records.

That stinks Rajah.
