I Honestly Don't Get The FP+ HubBub

*SIGH* Those of us who used it multiple times a day to ride the same rides are spouting doom and gloom. If it doesn't effect you, great. Happy travels.

Perhaps it's also something to do with attitude. I can't say that there's much that would make me walk around feeling "doom and gloom" when I'm on vacation. I mean, nothing short of disasterous! LOL And for me, not being able to ride something several times hardly falls into the "let this cause me to walk around grumbling" mode. Different strokes....

Seriously! How can people be so clueless?

When all the Tower Records stores closed, I thought, "Well, I don't go to record stores anymore, so it doesn't affect me."

But I didn't think, "Well, I don't go to record stores anymore, so it doesn't affect me. So why all the hub bub?"

Because I understood that all human beings do not have the same experiences, priorities and habits as I do.

"Clueless?"

So apparently, if someone dares question the upset masses, it is cause for name calling?

Forgive me. I shall henceforth baaah in the manner accepted by all sheeple.

It is a reduction in service for the same or higher price. What I want to know is the schedule of a day that these people who only need or want 1 or 2 fastpasses. I always treat all people I advise how to see as much as possible. The answer of it can wait till next time does not work for a lot of people.

I don't drink--not a sip. Can someone explain to me what the big deal was with Prohibition? ;)

From what I am able to gather here, the FP+ affects all rides and not just the headliners. It sounds like it is making other rides that are not typically as popular more crowded. This is where it could possibly affect all of the people who never worry about fast passes anyhow.

This. we leave for our trip next week and this is our usual time to travel -- not our choice but we make the best of it. Things were tight before, since there really weren't enough rides for all of the people in the parks. Now it's going to be really nasty. Used to be we could ride PoTC with about 20 minutes wait, but now it has a FP+ line and even that is more than 20 minutes. Tried to pick our FP+'s for next Thursday in HS -- first time I went on, the Great Movie Ride was no longer available!!! it is showing now, but there's only one time slot available around noon when we won't be there. And the clincher is, I only put that in because I had to pick 3.

In the past we didn't use a lot of FP's -- just took them when the SB line looked too long (like in the Disney Planning DVD) or we would take one while we did SB for another headliner. if you did this a couple of times each day you could do all the headliners in each park with only half the wait. but now the wait times for all headliners has increased, and during our dates we'll be looking at over 90 minutes each minimum.

I thought it was a pretty good system -- people could choose between waiting now or riding later, and it made the entire system more efficient. The new FP+ could have added to that, but instead they took away what worked well from the old system and added a whole bunch of other issues. It's not the concept of booking in advance that doesn't work for me (although I don't really want to have to do that at 60+, maybe 10+) but that they have caused a lot of problems that weren't there before and that aren't apparent until you fill up the parks.

:thumbsup2

Nobody wants to go home from a trip knowing that they didn't get to see half of the parks -- not because they found other fun things to do, but because they spent all of their time waiting in lines.

It really does depend on how you toured before, I think. I agree totally with that. We never really used FP before either. Occasionally we would, but it was never planned into our day. We never did RD either.

Yet we never waited more than 20 minutes for anything. LOL But we also are not people concerned with riding all the headliners multiple times in a day. However, my kids are getting to that age where they are starting to want to ride their favorites repeatedly. So I can see why this new system is a big disadvantage to some.

This will be our 3rd trip using FP+ coming up. We've liked it so far but this is the first one that I had to choose using the tiers. Not a fan of that, but we'll see how it goes.

NO DISRESPECT INTENDED! I REITERATE, NO DISRESPECT INTENDED. But really, you never waited more than 20 minutes for an attraction a WDW! I truly find that hard to believe. :confused3

We used to tour that way as well. The right time of the year, using the legacy FP system...we had several trips where we never had to wait more than 20 minutes. However, when we take a trip during Spring Break, all bets are off. :dance3:
