Just telling the info. I heard to see if anyone can verify this. I was told today that a visitor to WDW can get on the train and go to the Toontown section to wait for the park to open. If you are the first family there, Mickey will take your family on a tour of his home and then into the tent for pictures etc. This sounds so awesome!! Has anyone done this? Just a little tip for some of you who might want to attempt it!

I read this on the latest Passporter e-newsletter and thought it sounded neat - jotted myself a note for my itinerary - shhhhhh!

I haven't heard anything about that, but it would be pretty cool. I'm curious when there would be time. The train starts in the back of the park for the train station welcome, which is at 848 for a 9am open. I've never seen the train at main st. station before then.

Doesn't ToonTown open at 10am when the rest of the park opens at 9???? Maybe the first family there at 10am :confused3

You can take the train to Toontown and if you time it right, you could be there for rope drop at 10am. Mickey shows up and selects one child that he takes to his house and judges tent.

We happened upon this one morning when we took the train from Frontierland to Toontown. I got some great pictures of Mickey by himself and of Mickey hugging DS who was just ecstatic to see Mickey. Mickey then dropped the rope, selected a kid and they went to his house together.

Meanwhile on the other entrance of ToonTown, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet and Tigger are there to open up. They were just coming up as we got to the main tent and Cinderella & Snow White were there waiting.

Here's a pic of an empty ToonTown:

and here's one of Mickey:

That's awesome! Is it always Mickey at one and Pooh and friends at the other??

But wait a minute!!!! How can the gang from the Hundred Acres Forest be at Toon Town and at the Crystal Palace for breakfast!?!?!? Next thing you're going to tell me that Santa Claus isn't real!

Ever notice how when your waiting at the Crystal Palace for just one last character who is in your section, and then just before they get to you, they disappear in the back room for what seems forever? They may be jogging back and forth between CP and Toon town?

You do remember that MK has the underground tunnels right? That's how they get from CP to TT. Besides they're only at TT for a few minutes, just enough time to say they're taking a break at CP.

:rotfl:

When we were at WDW in 2003 we made sure we got to the rope at Toontown about 10 minutes before the rope was to drop. We wanted to be sure the kids were able to see and do everything in the area before it filled up. We had no idea about what was about to happen...right before 10am a ton of characters came out. Some walked up to the rope and took a childs hand and walked them to their "spot". My DD had the wonderful luck of having Minnie Mouse reach down and take her hand. I have a beautiful photo of them walking hand in hand down an empty street on their way to Minnies house. Once we got to her house, Minnie posed for photos on the front step with my DD and my 2 other children. Then she took them inside the house and sat on the little couch for more photos. About that time Chip and Dale showed up and they were all in the photos too. It was a really fun, special moment that my DD still talks about. I would guess about 8 characters actually "took" a child...and the rest walked back into their area for photo ops. Goofy ended up taking the child he picked right on to the Barnstormer ride to ride it with him. It was a lot of fun. But no, we didn't see anyone from the train part of the crowd. Maybe Mickey does that while the other characters come to the rope?

There are two entrances to Toon Town. The main entrance is from the teacups side. Not many people are usually on the train side, but you can definitely go there by train.

We usually do morning EMH at MK, and we go to Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and by about 9:45am we're usually done with Frontierland, at which time we catch the train there to go to ToonTown. We'll get there about 9:55am, and the last time there were only about 10 people waiting. However, only Mickey shows up on the train side, while the other side gets more characters.

Actually, there are three entrances to ToonTown.

The main entrance from Fantasyland
The train entrance
The walkway from Tomorrowland

Have you been on that new Virtual Magic Kingdom game yet? They have transporters, perhaps this is Mickey's big secret (that and the one about him getting his ear's starched...sorry House of Mouse episode!!)

DD4 with DH were the first at Toontown in May and she got the tour of Mickey's house alone with Mickey, wouldn't you know it I had the camera with me at the Regis and Kelly show! This was the highlight of our trip for my child! She told Mickey he needed to clean his kitchen! She is still talking about it.....

You're right. I don't usually consider the walkway as another entrance since it takes you to the same entry point as the train station.
