I haven't been to Disneyland in 10 years...what will surprise me the most?

I'm getting very excited to go! I know crowds will be an issue and was anticipating that, prices as well. The crowds won't bother me with the flexibility we have, and I expect the prices, and figure it's a special occasion.

It's interesting that in reflecting on DCA, I didn't think anything of it while I was there, but looking back it definitely feels very "meh", especially since I've been to WDW in between. I've got a big soft spot for Disneyland, as it's the original and there's a HUGE nostalgia factor. It was funny walking through Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom and telling my fiancee how bland the ride fronts were compared to Disneyland-they all looked the same!

I'm thrilled to see Carsland, and Buena Vista Street. And Grizzly Airfield!

Haven't read any other replies, wanted to respond with my automatic reaction.

Without a doubt, Carsland and the changes at CA. SO fun! :)

Surprises....wait, were you surprised to see a grain field in the "Tomorrowland" preview.

here are some seeds of surprises for you.

1. You are visiting Disneyland with the intent to commit a crime, so they will photograph you at the gate, and then every time you reenter the park, they will hold up a device, squint into the sun and see if their photo, matches your face.

2. Wow, the park is opening early!!! Nope, due to criminal photography activity, they open the park onto a rope drop very frequently

3. If you don't arrive early, you will be roped in behind some of the largest baby strollers on Land Rover earth, pretty electric scooters and some of the finest Starbucks has to offer.

4. Everyone has lost their biographical memory, so....electronic devices do the memorizing, most of the recorded content takes place at pathway junctions and dark rides. And large group photos.....in very small places.

5. Your POV may have been recalled, but the attractions......well no one claims responsibility so every day they will stop for 15 mins or many frustrating hours. Whether it be mechanical or customer behavior, don't despair, the attraction will start up again.

6. hillbillies weren't selling enough chocolate cake, so they got the boot!!!

7. Court of Angels photo op is now for the extremely privilege and is no longer available.

8 Ever want to try that freeway cloverleaf ramp at 60 MPH? They have a ride for that now....and very much like a freeway, a long wait or diamond lanes.

9.Whoopi........the children now have a friendly dark ride in DCA.

10. Uncivilly, much like a costco parking lot, why heck, even inside the store with all those rushing shopping carts, give no one grace or you will miss seconds of your day.

chickapin parterre....

7. Court of Angels photo op is now for the extremely privilege and is no longer available

One of my biggest not so pet peeves!
