I have3 choices

I would not choose any of those. That's just my opinion, though. Sorry.

That is okay but may I ask what you would chose

I'd want to know why you'd want a choice of those three only. Any specific park day that you wanted to dine at after? Or were the other two Downtown Disney-specific? I would choose Raglan Road if it were a matter of Downtown Disney being the reason.

I wouldn't choose the luau at all because I have never seen one positive review of it. Usually I like to try a place to decide for myself, but I'm not convinced about this one.

We typically do DTD on our first day that is why I wanted to choice one of the two

What luau with the characters are you refering to? Only thing close to that I know of is Ohana for breakfast... and its very nice...
The ther 2 you listed I would not eat at if you paid me... blegh....

I don't know my friend told me about it so I take it that it no longer exists

Well, if you're staying on property I suppose there is some argument for using the Planet Hollywood voucher. I'd go to Wolfgang Puck Express and then shop and maybe hit Goofy's Candy Co in DTD.

So far as RFC goes, I just think it is overpriced and blah. How about instead of the Luau I'd do Ohana for dinner or if you really want to do a show the Hoopdy Do Review is lots of fun and has a similar pricepoint to the Luau.

I'm sure you'll get many opinions but in the end yours is the one that matters. It's your money and your vacation and you should choose what appeals to you! Have a great time.

Of those three you listed.. i'd go with Rainforest Cafe.. the food is really good and the atmosphere is really cool(its almost like eating at a Tropical Rainforest:woohoo:)... I'd suggest you get the lava nachos.. They're HUGE and really tasty. Hope that helps you out:thumbsup2

There is a luau for dinner but it doesnt have characters and it is at the Poly. I have never been honestly but many people rave about it. I think I would pick it over the other 2 you have listed but since you mentioned DTD there are so many good places to eat there. Planet Hollywood and RFC are good for atmosphere but honestly the food is indeed blah and I have ever had good service at either. There is the new TRex in DTD which is owned by the same people as RFC. I have never been and fear its the same as RFC but would go once just so I could say I went.

Ok, I thought you were talking about the Spirit of Aloha luau/dinner show. I didn't notice you mentioned one with characters. The luau prior to the current Spirit of Aloha used to feature characters, and no, it does not exist.

I changed my mind about Downtown Disney. I think I'd rather just get sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich on my first day! But I still like Raglan Road as table service.

I never want to eat at Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood only because I have those franchises here. That's just been my own personal preference to choose something on vacation I can't get here.

Thanks for your help I think we will play it by year and just eat were we are close to as far as earl of sandwitches I think my mom had something more special in mind for my b-day dinner

The Spirit of Aloha at the Poly is a great show. I'll be making my 2nd visit in Oct. It is a good choice for a special dinner. The show is very good and we loved the food. You do get your picture taken with the characters transposed into it. And the Poly property is pretty to walk through.

txs I guess I better book ASAP

Wolfgang Puck Express all the way! I wouldn't limit yourself to those three choices, because there are MUCH BETTER choices.
