And I'm totally uninspired at the moment.
All I wanna do is bash a book really (not in a good mood), and well, that's not what my English teacher wants. She's not after a critique, she just wants me to talk about the book...

So, Catcher in the Rye, or Atonement?
Catcher in the Rye is kind of about nothing in my eyes, so I'd have a hard time talking about the plot. I mean it's just a series of random events that aren't even big..
That's just how I feel about it.

Atonement bores the holy heck outta me. Like, I FORCED myself to read this book. I cannot talk about how the author intrigued me and kept me reading.
I just don't put a book once I start reading, that's as simple as it is.

Now you're probably thinking, pick a book you DO like. Well, at the moment I can't think of any...

Catcher is the rye is so strange. It's about a whiny boy. And that's all I got out of it.

After reading some things extended learning things online...
I got that the author was trying to say something with the lack of plot.
To me, it just was a story that had no point. Now, I liked that because I often talk about nothing..
But yeah.

catcher in the rye.

outline for a five minute presentation.

1-intro. introduce the book and the author and give a quick summary of the plot.

2-delivery. talk about the unique speech that the author used. feel free to mention the liberal profanity and informal writing style. holden speaks to you as if you are his friend rather than his teacher, if that makes sense.

3-hit on some high points in the plot. what exactly is this book about?

4-the target audience. this book is the teenage angst novel. why?

5-close with your brief thoughts on the book. dont be too harsh and dont let this take up the majority of your presentation. would you recommend this book to another student?

i have this same assignment for this same book for english 3 ap, but mine has to be 10 minutes. i condensed my main points down for you.
