(I can't find the original thread).

It is going to save us a lot of money on our trip as well as with my online shopping. I'm going to recommend it to anyone I know who travels or shops online a lot.

Between the 2.5% savings on the currency conversion fees and the 1% cash back on all purchases, I saved $25 just on SD Zoo and Legoland tickets. I wish I had applied for the card before I bought the DL tickets.

We will be using this card for our month long vacation of traveling through the US.

I am glad that someoe was able to use the information I posted about the Amazon visa about a month ago! Hooray for saving money!

LittleFlounder - the Amazon visa is a credit card without the exchange conversion fee. When you use a regular Canadian credit card, you get charged 2.5% on top of the exchange rate. However, the Amazon visa (as well as Sears Mastercard as other people have pointed out) does not charge the 2.5% conversion fee. It also has the benefit of being a no annual fee credit card. You can go to Amazon.ca and find out more information about it.

Wish I'd know this a week ago! lol. I booked the Marriott via Air Canada's website to use my AMEX because they charge it in CDN and I didn't want the fee. I have both the Amazon Visa AND the Sears MasterCard! lol

So after reading this I rushed right over to amazon.ca to check it out.

Can any of you confirm what some of the reviews say... billing only by snail mail? That would be bad for me. I have my monthly bill-paying routine set up around getting all the bills in email.

It would still work as a foreign-purchases-only card, I guess, because I could zip right in and pay it as soon as I make the purchase.

Anyway, thanks to you all for the information!

I have the Amazon.ca visa rewards and have an online act where I can view bills etc. I pay through my online banking.
