I have H1N1... I'm really scared... I have 102.2... if the fever doesn't go down in two days I'll have to go to the hospital.. I'm really scared.. last time I got fever was 8 years ago. My mom isn't worry and is calming me down... but I'M really scared...I hadn't vaccinated beause here you have to be a pregnant woman, elfderly, babies and kids. My mom isn't cooperating either, she's been a bit angry.
Sorry I had to vent:guilty:

I'm sure you will be fine, Alessandra. In the vast majority of cases, it is just like the regular flu. I don't think you have any underlaying medical issues. Just take the medication for getting your fever down. And I bet your mom's anger is her fear too. If the Italian media is anything like the US media, they are playing up the bad news about this flu. If you need us, we are here for you in any way we can be.

Thank you so much Kim, I think all the media in the world are spreading bad new about the swine, the pharmacist also told me I have to be calm that si not a big deal. But you know I'm only 20 years old I haven't lived much :) . Thank you so much for the support. I'm sweating I think the fever is going down hopefully :). I think too that my mom's anger is just fear, she's more calm down.

so sorry to hear you're not well...
i'm sure you'll be fine....swine flu is really like any flu in terms of severity of outcome...
there's just been so much media hysteria about it...

not that it's fun to have the flu - it's not....i'm sure you feel SICK!!
and you'll probably feel lousy for a few more days...

i hope you feel better really soon!!!
my treatment? chicken soup and lots of movies (our 'traditional' sick movie genre? action, disaster and thrillers.....they seem to keep our mind off our ills....number one on the list? Independence Day...go figure..

get well soon!!!

We have all had it here (me, DS5, DD16, DD15) except DH and we have all survived. The biggest thing to watch for is fever(you're already watching that) and respiratory distress.

Just FYI they are recommending vaccine for ages 6mo to 24years.

We didn't get vaccinated, none avail. here anyway. Just got our immunity the old-fashioned way- by sending the kids to school. ;)

I am on (hopefully) the tail end of it and will hopefully be 100% by Monday. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

You'll be fine Alessandra. Keep a positive attitude and do exactly as the doctors tell you. It's just the flu. Don't be scared, YOU'LL BE FINE!!

Don't worry Alessandra, I know exactly how you feel! When I got sick with suspected Swine Flu, I had panic attack after panic attack about my symptoms, if I would be hospitalised (I HATE hospitals), etc.

Plus I hallucinate when I get a high fever, so I couldn't keep my thoughts together, which made me even more scared!

But just keep taking the medication to keep your symptoms under control and it should be fine. Keep yourself distracted (I know some old DisUnpluggeds really helped me!)

Cinderella is my all time favourite 'I'm sick' film! I would recommend it! :goodvibes

Feel better soon!!!

thanks to all guys, I get sick really rarely, so I think this is why I wa so scared!
Kate--> I'm so sorry to hear that! are you feeling better now?

Don't worry like everyone else said. You will be fine.

Get Well Soon!!!

Sorry to hear you are sick. I just got over the same thing. And I hardly ever get sick either. But this one made me feel bad for about 10 days. As long as you're a generally healthy person you'll be fine. Make sure to drink lots of fluids, chicken soup, and rest. Don't stress yourself out, you're probably tired enough as it is. Use this opportunity to get some rest and catch up on some good tv. I got sick after all three of my kids had it. It was hard to keep up with them while being sick.

Don't be nervous. The media likes to freak people out. You're gonna be fine.

I got swine flu early, around August time, and I am a sickly person, I get sick a lot! In fact I am ill again with stomach problems, which means I am not really eating and I am getting tired really quickly.

Hopefully it will sort itself out soon!

Get well soon Alessandra! Keep positive.

Get well soon Alessandra.
The best thing to do is get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids and any signs of breathing problems, get to the Doctor or ER as soon as possible, as you it have move to Pneumonia, which is one of the complications from this flu.

Alessandra, I hope you feel better soon. As our Pediatrician told us when DD came down with H1N1, it is all about fever control and LOTS of fluids!

There is really nothing they will do for the fever part of it. If you have a change in you breathing, you should get yourself to a doctor ASAP. You want that to be taken care of right away.

I am sure you will be just fine. Feel Better!

My 18 year old daughter was diagnosed with H1N1 flu about three weeks ago and is just now getting her strength back.

You'll be ok---drink alot of liquids (teas, juice)get lots of rest and listen to your doctor. They had her on antibiotics and Tamiflu which helped alot.

Take care...our family went through it too and we came out okay. Fever isn't that big of a concern on its own. The thing to watch for is any problems with your lungs. For some people the illness takes hold deep in their lungs and they have breathing problems, etc., and that's why they end up in hospitals on ventilators.

I was scared too when DD (age 2) came down with swine flu last weekend and I got it the next day. DD has a history of breathing problems but flu didn't turn into anything with her lungs, thank goodness. We have both recovered. It took 5 days for us to completely lose the fever. We're on day 8 and still have a little bit of stuffy nose and fatigue.
Like others have said, you should be just fine. Lots of fluids and rest. I watched a few movies and caught up on some TV shows online to keep myself entertained. Hope you feel better soon!

I've been unfortunate enough to have had it twice in the span of a few months. I was completely useless to the point that my mother took me to her house so I could get better. I lost a lot of hours at work which is even worse due to the fact that I leave for Disneyland in almost 3 weeks. I learned to love Gatorade during this time as well. Thanks to my mom, I was able to be fed good home cooked meals which I haven't had in forever & catch up on my Phineas & Ferb, Suite Life on Deck & start watching Wizards of Waverly Place. Thankfully i'm finally not sick anymore & it feels good, i'm sorry to anyone that has it because its a total nightmare.

So sorry you are not :sick:well. I am afraid you will be feeling pretty miserable for a while. Follow all the good advice and :hug:take it easy.
