I have Summer Sun Advice

I have red hair so have extremly pale skin, so i burn all the time  but if you want something to sooth the red skin but lavender oil onto it before you go to bed. In personal experence you wake up and it is a lot better and most of the time you do not peel. Plus the lavender oil helps you sleep :cloud9:

I have to suggest bacitracin(an antibiotic ointment.. kind of like Neosporin, which also works in a pinch). My Gramom told me to use it a few years ago when I had blistering sunburn on my shoulders(right before my dance recital  ) and my blisters were gone within days. It works best if you put it on thick and leave it on overnight. I found it also peels less when I use it. They have it at most stores near the bandaids.

In the mean time - use a cold towel or mist the sunburn with cold water.. it will feel good.

(I have extremely pale skin, and I love swimming - and it seems no matter how much I reapply sunscreen I always get burnt x_X)

I'm actually aware of that.
I go to a dermatologist every six months, and he says I have some of the healthiest he has seen.
I had a mole remove a month ago, that was normal, and I had another different kind of mole surgicaly removed friday.

And it isn't that I don't take time. It that I don't need it now.
My mother and grandfather are the exact same way.
its genetic.

sorry if i insulted you or anything by saying that.
and good luck with the surgery friday.
i just always put it out there, because some people aren't aware of how great the risks are, and it drives me crazy thinking that people could be potentially killing themselves with something so preventable.

I don't wear sunscreen.

I've never had sunburn, and I don't tan. I'm the same pasty white color year round.

My mom used to have an aloe plant in the kitchen for when we got burns. It was so gross and sticky, but it worked. I wish we still had the plant just in case, but I'm trying to get better about wearing sunblock.

i dont wear sunblock except when we go to the beach and i wear an spf 8...and when i do burn the next day its tan...what is sun poisening is it the same thing as a sun burn????

sun poisoning gets you REALLY sick.
it's a really bad sunburn. plus like fever and chills.
i've never had it, but from what i hear, it's no fun.

I had a bad burn where I was sick. I sprayed on sunscreen yesterday and apparently it didnt cover it and now Im BLOTCHEY.

I don't really know for sun posioning, but I have wonderbread white skin and I burn all the time. Taking a bath with some baking soda in it helps a lot and so does mixing eqal parts apple cider vineger and water and putting it on burns.

as for the whole sunblock vs no sunblock, I just put on spf 30 and then lay out in the sun. That's my idea of tanning.
