Hey everyone!
I have some good advice for all you people who are planning to be in the bright warm sun this year. I went to a beach near to me las Friday and I was very excited to be in the sun. Everything was going well, that was untill I fell asleep in the sun for an hour. So, here is my advice. If you go to the beach, even if you are just going with your friends, WEAR SUNBLOCK!!! I have the worst case of Sun Posining that I have ever had! It really HURTS! So, please learn for my stupiditity and USE SUNBLOCK!!! Ok well I got to go, bye.

PS, if any of you have had Sun Posining, please tell me if you have any cures for the redness or pain. thax!

I've had sun poisioning, and Batheing/aloe/water make it worse. THere's nothing you can do really.

not that I wanna sound big headed or arrogant but I'm usually very good at remembering to wear sun-cream!! It's usually my neck or my nose that get burnt, random I know but it's not a good look!

I'm forced to wear so much sunblock. My dad had skin cancer andI'm also at high risk. So I always wear my sunblock

I've never had sun poisoning, but some of my friends had it, and it doesn't look fun at all! I hope all goes well!!!

See, I've never burned before, and I live outside at the pool in the summer.
and I don't wear sunscreen either.

I've had it before, when i went to FL on spring break in 2005 and last summer...when i got home from the trip i went to see my family dr. who said when it happened i really should have gone to the ER in FL..oops! but anyways he gave me a prescrip. of some white cream that quickly took away the pain and i had to keep it covered b/c it was a huge area on my chest. Last summer when i had it on my nose (i work at an amusement park and outside for steelers training camp) the dr at the ER gave me the same type of cream and thank goodness i didnt have to keep it covered but I've learned to apply the spf 30 before I go outside!!

Mosturise! Keep it mosturised so it doesnt peel and flake, and to help the body regain its lost moisture.

sorry to sound like a mom, but even if you don't get burnt, the sun is still damaging your skin.
some cases of skin cancer aren't that bad, but my friend's dad died of it.
i think i'd rather take the five minutes to put on sunscreen then pay for the consequences later :/

I burn really badly if I'm out too long. I get red if I'm out in the sun for just a few minutes without sunblock.
I was at the pool a few days ago...I burned a tiny bit on my face and on the top of my head where my hair was parted. It's peeling now. It's gross.

Yesterday I spend all day sitting outside at Relay for Life and now i've got myself a nice farmer's tan. Its really bad too. And then there's a random red circle on my chest.

I normally forget to put sunscreen on. I was doing well this year until yesterday.

My volleyball team's setter got sun poisoning this past weekend. And because of it, we weren't allowed out in the sun/pool until Saturday.

I don't get why people wouldn't wear sunblock in the first place. I also don't get why people like to "cook" in the sun either but thats besides the point.

I get burned 1 to none times each year. I am petty much in a pool or on a beach all summer. I dont like sunblock at all. I know it is bad fo me but it just feels weird.

The weird thing is, I did use sunblock! Idk what happened, maybe I put it on too late, or not enough, or it washed off or something. I HATE my easily burned body!

I'm actually aware of that.
I go to a dermatologist every six months, and he says I have some of the healthiest he has seen.
I had a mole remove a month ago, that was normal, and I had another different kind of mole surgicaly removed friday.

And it isn't that I don't take time. It that I don't need it now.
My mother and grandfather are the exact same way.
its genetic.

I pretty much live in the pool come summertime. I barely ever get sunburnt, and I barely ever remember to wear sunscreen.

Everyone is at risk. My dad just had a basal cell cancer removed a couple of weeks ago, and he's fine, and its all gone, but it really does force me to put that stuff on. We're supposed to wear a shot glass worth of the lotion.

I've been sun burned badly. It's because my skin is extremely fair and when I'm in the sun, I'm in the sun for long periods of time, and the more I slather on sunscreen, the more sun burned I get it seems :( I don't know what sun poisoning is though.

I use fresh, pure aloe from my neighbor's aloe plants. Works GREAT. But that stuff you buy at the store burns a little for some reason. So maybe you should buy an aloe cactus :/
