I have stateroom #6000, is that good??

We were upgraded to 6000 once. It is a handicapped accessable room, which makes it very large-about twice the size of othe Cat 8's. It has a single bathroom vs the split bathrooms, but it too is large. No tub, only a wheelchair accessable large shower. Plenty of room in the cabin, but it has no sofa, only a large chair. The location is excellent - very quiet and easily accesable to the forward elevators, which always seem to be the least crowded. The adult areas are above (Spa and Quiet Cove pool)and below( Theater and Route 66) you. Overall, we loved the room. The few inconviences are overcome by the advantages.

That sounds great that it is larger than the other rooms! Do you have any photos of the room to share? What didnt you like about it besides it not having a couch and split bathroom?

Not having the couch was the only negative. For both of us to sit and look out the porthole, one had to sit on the chair and the other on the desk stool or bed. Not that big of a deal. The bathroom was really a plus. The larger size made up for the loss of split. My one fear was that b being bigger it may look sparse and too utilitarian. It was nicely decorated and roomy.

It's a big room and quiet as it's all the way forward and does not share any adjoining walls with other staterooms. However, I thought the thrusters were kind of loud when docking or undocking. I was on the Wonder as well.

The bathroom is huge but I didn't really care for the accessible shower since water basically went everywhere. Do NOT put towels or clothes on the floor while showering. Note that it's only a single bathroom; not the split arrangement typical of cat 8 rooms.

The room also lacks a couch and only had 1 chair which made it a bit inconvenient to eat in the room without someone sitting on the bed.

All that said, I enjoyed the room because it was an upgrade from a cat 11, and I would take it again as an upgrade from a cat 11 or 12 if given the choice.

Is there a room you know of in Catogory 8 that we have that would be better than this room?

I wouldn't say better. I would say "different". 6000 is bigger, has a bigger (but not split) bathroom, no common walls with another stateroom (less noise), and lacks a couch. So there are pros and cons.

Well I just found out that the ship is completly sold out so even if I wanted to I couldnt change rooms. But I am sure this one will be just fine. I am looking forward to the fact that it is larger than most. :cool1:

we had a room that looked exactly like that on our princess cruise to alaska this past summer. i personally liked how much room there was and the bathroom, even though it was only a single rather than the split, was still great! the only suggestion is that you check the drain in the shower, because ours was clogged so the first time we all took a shower the bathroom floor was flooded! haha. we cleaned it after that and it was fine. but i agree that you need to remove anything you don't want wet from the floor. the only bad this is that it does lack a couch like smchan said, but we were never in the room to even watch tv, so it didn't bother us! i'd say that between how little time we actually spent in the room and all the cons of the room, i don't think that the room is bad and wouldn't worry too much about the negatives. my grandparents are staying in a similar room when we go on our cruise next year, i think they really liked how spacious the room was! :teeth:

For both of us to sit and look out the porthole, one had to sit on the chair and the other on the desk stool or bed.
I wonder if anyone in this room has ever asked the stateroom host if there is another chair they could bring in, maybe from a dining room. I can't believe that the Magic or the Wonder doesn't have a spare chair!

That's exactly what my fiance said. So we are planning that as soon as we get to our room to call and ask for an extra chair to be brought to our room. That way we can eat at the table by the window etc.... :cool1:
