I have some questions about the kid areas in US and IOA

Hi,

We are going the week of April 4th. In all the kid areas do the kids get wet? For the water slide in Fievel's Play area do they need to be wearing bathing suits? I was thinking of changing the kids into their bathing suits ( of course covering them up when they are not in a kid area) and doing the kid areas in the afternoon, then go back to the hotel. What does everyone do about the kids getting wet?

Thanks,
Susan:D

Not all the area has water. There is a "ball factory" where they can throw nerf type balls at each other and also some other areas with climbing, etc.

The part that is wet is in Curius George. I do see that most of the kids have swimsuits or shorts with tank tops in that area. If it is hot, they will definitely want to go in the water area though so I'd bring the swimsuits.

If you play in the water part of Curious George without knowledge of where all the stunts are, chances are you will get drenched. As for Feival, the water slide only gets your bottom slightly wet as some of the rafts leak. The rafts have bottoms which keep out most of the water though, so street clothes are fine on this ride.

As for IOA, there are no major wet areas like the Curious George playgrounds. However, they are plenty of spots with soaking oppurtunity. One of such is in If I Ran The Zoo. It has little water stunts, but there is potential to get soaked. The main water area at IOA is in Camp Jurassic. There you'll find a water war area with two battle lines of water guns in which guests can fight it out.

Bathing suits are a good idea. We always put them in them under there clothes. I bring a beach towel as well. My kids ALWAYS get SOAKED! I think these are there favorite things to do at the parks.

When we visit both parks we usually have our kids wear the bathing suits under their clothes and wear sandals that can get wet. I do the same when we go to IoA because we then ride the Popeye's raft ride, Ripsaw Falls, etc. We'll usually take a mid-day break and return to the room to swim, etc. When we return to the park we then wear street clothes and sneakers and avoid the water rides and attractions.

The kids will want to get wet. At first they'll start out slow, playing around trying to avoid it, but eventually, they'll be soaked.
Have them wear a bathing suit under their shorts/shirt. When you get to the play area, have them take it off, leave shoes with you, and put sun tan lotion on them. You pick a spot to sit, tell them how much time they have, and start reading a good book.

When you've waited long enough (which is always 5 more minutes), drag them out, dry them off, and have them get dressed.

My son wears his swimtrunks as his "shorts"............ and they dry so fast once you leave the water area, it isn't really an issue.
If you plan stay at the water area for a long period of time, I'd bring a towel........ but then you have to keep up with it. My son just took his shirt off.......... and when he was done, he "air" dried for a few min. then we went around the rest of the park. It is soooo warm, they'll "dry" off quickly!!!!!!

Hi,

Thanks so much for all of the replies and advice. I know my kids will love getting wet.
