I had a wonderful stay, my first time in a BWV studio as I usually have the one or two bedroom unit. I did miss the nice jacuzzi and washer and dryer, however. The laundry room down on the first floor only has two washing machines and it was not always easy to grab one to toss in some wash.

I had a preferred view room overlooking the main pool. Even though I was on the third floor, the view was obstructed by a large tree. I did not request it be chopped down, however, lol.

The Boardwalk is such a great location! I love being able to run out and choose from nice restaurants or take out for quick meals. There is always some fun and excitement to view, and it is an extremely convenient location for getting to Epcot or MGM.

My room was ready when I checked in around 1:30 pm on Thanksgiving Day. I was most surprised, to say the least! I had thoroughly expected to be told to check back at 4 pm. :)

The check in experience, was not the best I have had, however. The CM seemed frazzled even though there was only one other person in line and several other CM's finishing up their guests. I do not usually complain, but here is the situation. First, no "Welcome Home". Ok, not critical but always a nice touch for members to hear. She took my confirmation page, asked how many keys and if I had a car. The next thing I knew, she was handing me the keys and a little card with my room number. Nothing else. I asked if I could have a member booklet with the brochures on the hotel, parks and what is happening that week at WDW. She gave me one without a word. After I left the desk I realized that I was not given the AMEX White Glove lanyard and pin gift. I had used my AMEX card for room charges and should have been given the gift. When I went back later the next day, the CM on duty told me that it is not given to members. I educated her and showed her the fine print in writing, LOL! Well she then told me that "you learn something new every day". Sadly, she was training a new employee at the desk..sigh.

The only other negative experience on my otherwise wonderful stay was my trash and towel day. I returned from the parks expecting it to be done at 6:30 pm. I need to shower quickly and meet friends for dinner. Well there had been someone in there, but only two out of three trash containers were emptied. There was still a dirty wash cloth by the bathroom sink, and only one fresh wash cloth had been placed there. The toilet paper was not replenished and was almost gone. No soap left and the bar in the shower was almost a tiny nub by now ( I was there 9 nights lol). I called Housekeeping and was told I needed to speak to a manager. I relayed the same story once again and was told someone would be right down. Twenty minutes later, I called and said look I am late to dinner. I am going in the shower. They said they would delay the housekeeping to come in 45 minutes later.. By the time I returned after midnight the problems had been rectified by Housekeeping. But I told them I was highly annoyed especially since I had left a $3.00 tip and it seems the tip was taken, but the job not done. They said they would duly note and correct the CM.

Other than those couple of instances, I had a marvelous stay at BWV. :) The weather was great except for one chilly, rainy day, and I always say any day at WDW is sure better than one here at home! LOL!!

Carol,
Great to read your report. 5 days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!

WELCOME BACK CAK!:bounce:

Sounds like it was a good trip with the excpetion of housekeeping.Where are the pictures?

Ty guys!! :)

RMD, there will be pics up as Crissup took many great photos again with his digital camera. We were able to catch many DIS'ers and TT'ers as well since DIS Con was going on at the same time that we were there. When they are up I will post a link to the pics from here!! :) :)

WB Carol! Glad to read you had mostly a good time!

One thing I would note, I've been reading more and more that they've been training new castmembers - turnover must be heavy there.

CarolAnn, I usually bring my own soap........and occasionally sneak a towel or two in from the pool:D :D .........

We had a little bit of the lackluster houskeeping treatment at OKW last January too, but it was cheerfully corrected in a timely manner after just one call.

We had a tiny problem with OKW's housekeeping too......in June. Basically the same thing. Not all trash cans were emptied......no biggie, we usually dump it ourselves anyway. No shampoo to cover the almost empty ones we had, and the towels weren't replaced when the dirty one's were taken. The towel issue was the most disconcerting. We were told that if we wanted more we would need to pay for them. What???

We ran into a housekeeper outside our villa and she gave us a new set, no charge. Thank goodness! Not enough trouble to ruin a vacation but it was an inconvenience.

BWV's will be our next resort to try! Can't wait!

It was great to finally get to meet you (and John), Carol! Glad we were able to find a few moments to say Hi!

TNRobin, CarolAnnK and I were at DISconII. Thanks to Regina for keeping this board running smoothly in our absence! :)

It was wonderful meeting you too Shontell! Such an unexpected treat walking into the Resorts Tour that evening! LOL!! Perhaps we will have the pleasure of doing business again in the future! ;) :) :)

Carol,

I wondered if you attended any of the other events and I just missed you?!

I see you are on the SS Member Cruise - I will see you there if not before!

All the best,
Shontell

Regina, we owe ya one! LOL!!

And I expect payback on the Member Cruise, preferably in the form of a Konk Kooler.;) ;)

Welcome back!:D

Carol:

In another thread you mentioned fitting an Aero Bed in a studio. How did you arrange the room to fit this and open the sofa bed?

Carol was pretty clever in how she got that aerobed to fit. There is no way that I would have thought she'd have had room for all 5 of them adults in that one studio, but she did!!

I have a full size Aero Bed. It is the one that you plug into the wall versus the battery operated earlier model that I had. This one is very easy to set up.

In my BWV studio, I did open the full sleep sofa and move the table and two chairs across the room near the door at night. Then I would set up the Aero Bed at the foot of the sleeper. It fit perfectly. Well worth it to not hear my DD's complain all night, lol.

Plus, I should mention that the OKW sleeper is a queen size which is more roomier than the full size at BWV.

never never ever had 5 in a studio. first time in a studio with DD's eek. In fact usually have 3 in a two bedroom ROFLOL!!

Ok, so it was six! I wasn't counting the sixth person you had sleeping in there for the first couple nights. I laughed when I heard how you had to jam the table in front of the door so the maid couldn't pop in and catch you all in there! :o

Funny funny funny!! :teeth: :teeth:

Well I am a spoiled brat, I know, LOL!! It is bad enough with three females sharing one bathroom, LOL!! :) :)
