I am very new to the DisBoards, so please bare with me. Although I am new to the Dis, I am not new to WDW. I lost count but I have gone at least 15 times. Not bad for a northener...

Leading Cast:
Nutsy (DW) princess: : She is a disney fan, but not quite the fanatic I can be. Truth is she didn't understand why I loved it so much, till she went with my family to the Disney Institute. Now she doesn't argue when I ask if it is okay to plan another trip.

Skoochy (DS) : He will be 5 when we go in Aug. Last time we visited he was 18mnths old. He doesn't remember anything about that trip, but we enjoyed it greatly. We are both looking forward to this trip and how he will react to the wonder.

Stinie (DSIL) :cutie: : Nutsy's sister. Has never done disney right! Only been there a couple times and always stayed outside of the world. I am looking forward to blowing her mind. I'll turn her to the dark-side, just like I did her sister. She grads college this year, so we are hoping to find her a disney BF on the trip.

Phibbles (me) : I have been going to WDW since I could crawl. With my folks every trip involved camping at FW. Can't complain though, it was always fun. The memories I have watching WDW change over the last 30 years are quite amazing.

Supporting Characters:
My folks and one of my brothers will be going too. As of right now we are a total of 8 adults and 3 kids.

When: Aug 24 - 30, 2008
Where: Family Suite at All-Star Music
this way Stinie and Skoochy don't have to share a bed, and I don't break the bank on vacation.

I wanted to do the deluxe dining plan, but my DW convinced me my jeans couldn't handle that much food. So we are on the basic dining plan only. I really miss the original Sun&Fun plan from 1994, it was the best food and recreation plan ever. Costed practically nothing. But that is another story.

Okay, I think that is enough to start. I will add more soon.
Let me leave with a couple questions:

To Hoop-Dee-Doo or Not to Hoop-Dee-Doo? Is Fantasmic Dinner better idea?
We have always done the HDD one night, but I am wondering if my DS5 will enjoy it enough?

Okay, I know I still have 289 days before my trip. But eating at WDW is one of my favorite things. I know which TS's we will likely eat at, but I don't really know if there are any CS's worth going out of the way for. I would love some suggestions.

TS's we will likely do:
Sci-Fi
Mama Melrose
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
Chef Mickey
Boma (will be first time)

I am trying to post some pics from 2004...but all I get are links to the website I have them posted on.

does the web address end is something like .jpg? I needs to me something like that. it won't work if it's a .com address. and you just have to put the address between and (without the spaces between the G and the last bracket)

We are driving to WDW from NJ. I would love to put together a mix-tape of Disney songs for the ride. But what songs would be best for a road trip? Any suggestions? I would love songs that the family could sing-a-long too.
:rolleyes1

Even though my audience apears to be my, myself, and I; I have decided to be a trooper and keep going with this PTR.

Tonight at dinner I wrote a tentative schedule for our trip. I never thought writing a schedule for WDW was necessary, but after reading other reports it appears to be the thing to do. And since I am a good follower, here I go.

Sun 8/24 - check-in at ASMu. MK at night with a group dinner at CP.

Mon 8/25 - MK take two. Since I am betting this will be Skoochy's favorite place, I want to spend our first full day there. Ohana for dinner - should be good break from the park. Will be our first time eating here.

Tue 8/26 - Morning at Typhoon Lagoon. PM at DHS with a Fantasmic Dinner. Will probably do Mama Melrose, unless they let me pick PrimeTime instead.

Wed 8/27 - Epcot day. How many times can I ride test track?
Will do dinner at Garden Grill. We have offered to watch the twins for this meal, so my Bro and his Wife can go to Le Cellier for a romantic dinner. I still don't understand why they would want to go to Canada for a private dinner though. I would think France would be more appropriate.

Thur 8/28 - AK day. Dinner at Boma. I hope I can find it.

Fri 8/29 -- Last DDP meal. Will be PrimeTime or Biergarten. I simply can't decide.

I'm reading! I just haven't been around much lately. I'm trying to catch up on the PTR's that I subscribed to. It's hard though so I know there are some I won't be able to read. But I'm reading yours!! :)

I love planning stuff. And I love making lists. But we haven't really made a schedule for our WDW trip. Not even sure which days we're doing which parks. I'm thinking I should probably figure that out since we leave in 10 days.

Your plans look good! You'll have lots of fun, I'm sure.

Thank you. You are so kind. Have fun on your upcoming trip.

Yipee. Yipee. I got a magic postcard today. Actually it came to my wife, but it is all mine now. Tomorrow I call AAA to get a well deserved 30% off.

I'm jealous! I wish we could've gotten some sort of discount. Well, we got free parkhoppers or something. but that was pretty much it.

Hi Phibbles, just found this, as you know I'm there 14th to 28th so we may bump into each other :)

I'm reading! Disney has some amazing Greatest Hits CD's. Volumes 1-3 are really good and yes they are totally sing-a-long-able. Oh look I made up a word!

We are going in April with the Deluxe Dining Plan. I know its a lot of food but I figured on doing a ton of character meals (beats standing in line to meet them) and also experiences places (like Prime Time and Sci Fi) which are almost attractions in themselves.

It helps a lot. I didn't think I needed to but once I got things laid you it all works so nicely. I don't list what rides we want to hit in order but I do keep a mental Must See list going. Heck I might even write that down!

If you are going with the Fantasmic Dinner Package it has to be either Mama Melrose, Hollywood and Vine, or if you want to spend two TS Brown Derby. We choose Mama Melrose after hearing the reviews on H&V and not wanting to give up that extra TS.

I will have to look for them. I really need to spend more time brainwashing my son on all things disney. I am only now realizing there are so many characaters he will be clueless about.

I read the same thing, but am hoping I can convince them to bend the rules.
;) MM is nice and all, but not my favorite place to eat.

Hey, nice reports, we did Prime time last year and loved it, I got fussed at (elbows). Can't do it this year under repair. Still have ADR's to make. Not sure which ones, wanna do Mama Melrose & Boma but haven't convinced the rest of our crew yet. Keep it up I'm in.

I would not suggest A Sponful of Sugar....trust me you don't want to teach a 5 year old that song when you have to spend two days in a car with him.:rotfl2:
