I have literally now seen it all...

Hubs and I just came through the MK toll gate (he was driving) and I have literally seen the most ridiculous behavior ever.

A woman was sticking her head out of the sun roof of a Hummer to take a selfie with the tollbooth sign, using her iPad.

I legit couldn't believe this ultimate display of idiocy all in one place.

 I few moments later you could have made a selfie of the selfie....I am trying to be funny here ( and of course I get that I may be the only one laughing)and NOT snarky.

You are so right, that is crazy. :sad2:

Wow - that is TOTAL idiocy and lunacy!!

With all deepest sympathies to his family, this brings to mind the story on the news yesterday about the gentleman who hopped a fence around a roller coaster @ Cedar Pointe to retrieve a dropped phone - tell a Cast Member or whatever, do not get it yourself and put your life at risk - yes,m it may be expensive, and I get that it's "yours", but it's a PHONE, and NOT worth it in the end!!!

Eh. This one doesn't bother me so much. The traffic is stopped. She's not endangering herself or others. She's not inconveniencing anybody in any way. Let her take her picture.

If this were walking down the middle of Main Street holding everyone up, or on a roller coaster where the ride will have to be stopped due to safety, then, yeah, that would be different.

Not sure why this is an issue...there are many of us that would do the same if we could..c'mon..admit it! :rolleyes1 A selfie or pic with this sign in the background would be awesome. I don't see a safety issue. As long as there is nothing dangerous happening...traffic was stopped..noone is half out of the vehicle...etc. They were just as excited as all of us would be!

I just took it as someone who was super excited about her trip. Maybe she saved up for a really long time? :confused3

That's what I was thinking ... if it was my first and only trip, I'd do it with no shame.

I guess I just don't get the communal bashing with the "selfish stick" and the "idiot stick", not to mention the "narcissi-stick" just because someone takes a selfie. Sometimes, there's just no one to take a pic ... or in my case a husband who is oblivious to taking pics of anyone but our kids.

The idea that she's excited about her vacation may be a fair assessment.

For me, it was just a lot of things I would never do all on one place. And I'll fully admit it - the iPad as a camera is a bit of a pet peeve of mine.

I guess it's just a reminder everyone's interpretations and opinions are different! :-)

*This* I agree with. I wish they would ban iPad's from the parks like they did selfie sticks. Use your phone as a camera or, better yet, use a camera that doesn't light up the place when you use it on a dark ride.

I agree with that. However in stopped traffic when it is daylight? That is way different. As long as she was not driving the car I fail to see the "idiocy".

Just playing devils advocate here but for those who've said "she was just excited" or "she paid a lot of money for her vacation" does that same rule apply to all those other things that annoy us in the parks? Including selfie sticks (if used safely) or taking up all the walk way with their family? Or using their iPad as a camera at a parade? Or the chanting teens (or your groups)?
Maybe they're so excited and have spent a lot of money to be there, it's harmless, they're literally not hurting anyone or themselves.

Like I said, just playing Devils advocate here, I actually don't have a strong opinion either way. It's just funny how the "she was excited" and "it may be her first trip" arguments apply here but not in other cases.

I just think taking pictures outdoors in general with your iPad is embarrassing. Not limited to any reason.
But if it's the better camera you have than your phone, then sure, why not? Not as obnoxious as the selfies sticks.

Have to disagree with you on this one. She is probally a passenger . Who has stuck there head out of sunroof at sometime in their life . We did when we had a limo for prom etc. Both our vehicles have sunroofs, our kids have done it . While stopped somewhere looking at animals etc.

She was excited to be at the magic kingdom. The line was not moving "yet". I see nothing wrong . Just my 2 cents.
