Novemeber 15...temps are going to be in the high 60's. Could hit 70 degrees! :cool1:

Now, watching the weather last night, Todd Gross was saying it will be warm tomorrow, but could see teens by Friday. Ok, I sit up, I am scared now. Suffer through commercials, get back the weather already. He comes back, shows us the mild temps, tells us how warm it will be today, then explains the jet stream, pulling the cold weather in from the west. He thens says it will be with us for a few days. Now I am bummed. I hate cold.

After all that...he shows us the extended for cast. Yes, Friday he is calling for 39 degrees, he is being cautious. It could be in the 40's. BUT...the rest of the weekend and into next week, shows temps in the mid-50's! That's COLD???? Not in November, my friends. Sure it is not beach temps, but anyday from November on, that has a temp reading higher than 50 degrees, I'll take it.

If Todd Gross is calling 50 degrees a cold-front, I think it means he is not seeing temps much lower than that happening for awhile. :cool1:

Yeah - today is weird here in CT! I'm wearing a skirt and boots with no tights, and it felt BALMY outside when I was pumping gas at 6:45am!

I thought I saw 40's for temps going forward around here...maybe snow by next week. But, yeah, 50's is warm this time of year around here.

I love the cold, I'm ready for it.

I hate to be a thorn in your sides, but I for one am hoping for a nice winter. I love my changes of seasons and all that comes with it. I say, bring on the cold and the snow!  Wait! Before you flame me, allow me to get my flame suit on. Ok, it's on.

You know, the Cape got enough snow last year to make up for 5 winter's. So consider it was an advance, OK? :teeth: ;)

I wouldn't mind the snow, if it didn't come with the cold. My favorite is a snow storm, and the next day is 45 degrees! I actually prefer the snow, because there is such a thing as it being "TOO COLD" to snow.

Let it snow in the mountains of NH so the skiers can have their fun. Down here in Southern NH, 50 degrees all winter would be fine with me :sunny:

i have to agree with you there on some points...like I said before, I do like the cold...but I remember the weeks of 15 degree days (with negative windchills) we had one year...and that just sucked!

I love the snow too...don't mind driving in it if I HAVE to...but there is something so peacefull about standing on your deck with a mug of hot chocolate in the snow.

If you get what's coming from Minnesota you'll be getting windy, snowy 20-30 degree weather for a couple of days. We got some snow yesterday and it's still snowing some today, but it's supposed to be around 40 Friday so what we have will most likely melt.

Yes, the Cape did get hammered with snow last year, and I was there to shovel it from my then fiancee's house, now wife (we live in Cotuit on the Cape). I actually did double duty this last winter. I would shovel her place, it always seem to snow on the weekends, and then I would drive back to my place in Somerville and shovel my parking spot out. I'm figureing that this year won't be as harsh for the Cape...as you said, we got enough to make up for 5 years worth.

The nice thing about snow is it at least has to be a certain temp to snow. If it's too cold then it won't. Yes, it's still cold :cold: , but not that -15 we had a couple of years back.

Do you think that this summer's tropical weather portends a similarly violent winter, weather-wise? I wonder :scratchin

Personally, I think this is more likely, although, I would hope not. I remember the year we adopted our son, 1998, that it was warm into November. I also remember that January was hellish--ice and snow and cold temperatures. I remember one Friday night I was on call an ice storm came through about 5pm. Actually, bad weather had been predicted, and I packed extra diapers, formula, food and clothes for my son, who was 11mo at the time. I just planned on staying overnight in my office, sleeping on the floor, with him in his stroller.
Good thing I did. My husband wasn't able to shovel out our driveway until about noon--the snow was that bad. That was the weekend that the weight of the snow and ice caved in the roof at several stores in the area.

Our MN weather has realy take an turnaround. 61 last weekend. Now below zero windochills and some snow yesterday.

Probably headed your way, sorry.

herc.

I am not holding any hope out for a mild winter out this way this year. We have had temps in the 30's during the day and lows in the 20's this past week, it has been snowing and the cold is allowing it to stay on the ground, and our cattle are getting such thick coats we are now calling them "woolly mammoths"! It is going to be :cold: this winter!!

With the amount of rain we have had the past couple of months in the Northeast and all these hurricanes, I'm really nervous about this winter. I think we are in-line to have another Blizzard of '78 type storm. I hope not, but the weather has been really wierd this year!

Look at the "freak" tornados that are happening now. These are very rare for this time of year. Plus going through from a-w plus on the hurricanes, who knows what going to happen next!

Its around 70 here as well. I'm actually hoping for a cold winter. I want to build a ice rink in the backyard.

Yes we did get enough for 5 years worth!! I didn't mind the snow as much as losing my power! During the "Big" one I lost electric, which powers my gas heat and let me tell ya...Brrrrrrr was it cold. I remember bundling up under the covers in my bed with the battery operated radio listening to the Pats vs. Steelers game..how pathetic!
Let us CapeCodders just get some snow this year....pretty little flakes, not mountains of snow!
