So... We have a meeting first thing this morning, and its officially announced that we have been bought out. It's a great move for both companies, we look forward to growth from the partnership, blah blah blah. Multiple levels of management talk to us for a kumbayah session... But the sad reality is that after another 30 days or so a good portion of us may have our days numbered... Ugh...

Sounds rough. Hope your predictions are off and your job is safe.

Hope that your job is secure all all goes well :grouphug:

Sorry to hear that Tim. I hope everything works out. All my best.

Thanks everyone. From what I'm gathering, it will be about a month before we really have a good idea of what kind of changes will be made, and all that. Looking over everything, it seems that even in the worst case, between what I'll make from the stock options, and the severance package, and payment for unused vacation, I'll actually be in good shape for a while, which will make things a lot less stressful.

In the meantime, even in the worst case, probably have a few months of integration work to deal with, so... could be worse.

Best of luck to you. Not sure about the size companies you're talking about here, but usually when they say the above the only growth they're talking about is in regards to upper management compensation packages -like laying people off, generating positive balance sheets, and fully tapping their bonus mechanism. Makes you wonder what Schools of business some of these executives attended.

Hehe... $1+ billion buying out $70 million company. You obviously picked up on exactly what I was saying between the lines, I speculate a lot of us won't be around forever. :confused3

Best of luck, Tim...I hope you have some positive signs that the future of your job is secure! :goodvibes
