FreshTressa said:I brought a salad made out of the bagged spinach to a pot luck like a few days before the outbreak.
Wouldn't that have made me popular if it had been the contaminated kind? I washed it first though, so we will never know.
And as for your frozen spinach, it is fine as it has been blanched.
And it can take up to 9 days for symptoms to appear...

EEYOREMAMA said:The reason it was contaminated is because it's "organic." They don't use pesicides. Most of the counties that produce "organically grown" produce, use nonanimal fertilizer (if you get my drift). This is where most of the danger comes from.
The news reports don't linger on this aspect of the problem. The waste that the food is grown in is contaminated. Bring back pesticides. All we had to do was wash that food.
kayeandjim00 said:I disagree with this. Pesticides are not necessary when organically grown correctly.

EEYOREMAMA said:The point being when "grown correctly." A large percentage of produce we import does not meet national criteria for "grown correctly." You can of course disagree, but you would not be correct. We are importing food fertilized with human waste and animals that eat meat. Our fertilizer comes from animals that do not eat meat. Fact.
