but, this takes the cake! I leave tomorrow morning and have to get up at 3 a.m. My bags are packed and we are planned to the hilt. This day has been dragging by, so I decide to hop on the treadmill for a quick 2 miles. I don't have on socks, but hey, these shoes are comfortable and it is only 20-30 minutes. Well, I have two blisters now! I know. . . STUPID! Any suggestions? Does Moleskin help after the blister forms? UGH :sad2:

Poor thing :(

If you use moleskin be sure to cut a hole for your blister or you may pull the skin off. Ouch!

I know you aren't supposed to, but I always pop blisters on my feet when I get them and then put a bandaid on it. I'm not saying you should do it but that is what I do. When I relieve the pressure from the blister the sore spot feels a lot better.

Good luck!

Instead of sticking the moleskin on your blister, try it the other way around. Stick the moleskin on the inside of your shoe where it hits the blister. It stays on better and you'll still get the same protection.

Band-Aid makes a product that's like a "gel pad" that goes over the blister and cushions it when you walk. It's really the only product I've found where you can put your shoes back on and keep going. Have also done the moleskin, but as mentioned above, I stick it on the shoe, not on my skin.

HTH & have a great trip!

I don't know if you have a drug store nearby, but if you do, you can try to get some stuff called "Second Skin"- it is actually made for burns, but I use it a lot for blisters. It is a sterile water-based gel patch that you put directly on the blister, and it keeps it a little moist so it heals better. It also acts to take the pressure off the blister- just cover it with a bandaid so it doesn't slip.

Something else you can check for is something called "DuoDerm." It was originally made for bed sores, however it is terrific for blisters! It has an adhesive backing, and it is sort of a spongy material with a waterproof cover (don't know if I described it too well,) and you just cut it to size, and put it right on the blister and leave it on until it is falling off. You can shower with it and everything. The downside to this is that it is pretty expensive.

Hope this helps- I am an athletic trainer, and these are two quick fixes we use on our athletes a lot!

I second looking for the Gel Pads from Band-Aid. Also, try to wear flip flops or sandals (at least while you are traveling to WDW) to help the swelling on the blisters go down. BTW, msmouse-I live in Gonzales, La. and we leave on the 22nd for WDW :flower: Have Fun Neighbor :goodvibes

Wow. I am headed to WalMart now! Thanks everyone. Wendy1974, you have a great trip too! I have friends in Gonzales.
