And it actually does not affect me at all, as I do have my fares booked already. Just curious.

I am looking at going to from MKE to MCO on 12/8, returning 12/16. I originally booked at $99 each way, then price dropped to $79 (got my credits) and then to $69 (got my credits. 12/8 flight is 671 at 8:45 AM. Return is 678 at 7:42 PM.

The return flight is still at $69 but the first flight is, and has been for about two weeks now, at $313 for lowest coach, actually more than business class. :confused3 There are still many seats open, in both classes. Does anybody have an idea for that pricing logic? And again, from my point of view, just curious.

If you care to look and try and figure out, here is link to ticketing.

There IS no logic that I can figure out. I am also flying MKE to MCO and I have my flights down to $77 there and $115 back. Dec 3 early morning flight same as you and Dec 18 a mid afternoon flight coming back through Atlanta. I didn't want to take the really late nonstop as we are coming home from a two week trip then and just off the ship from our cruise so we'll want to be home earlier.

Anyway, I"ve been watching the flights for months and they go up, down, up, down, etc. No rhyme or reason that I can see.

Same here. We've been flying MKE to MCO for a few years now and I can't figure out any patterns. We're looking at going early Feb. 2011. Flights on 2/4 and 2/11 are $101 and $69. The same flights on 2/11 and 2/18 were $170 there, $69 back. Now today those are down to $127 there, $69 back. No rhyme or reason that I can see, either. Haven't seen a case where business class is cheaper than coach. Can't figure that one out at all. Have run into the situation before where one of the legs is priced really low, but the other leg is high.

OT but...what do you mean by got my credits? The reason I am asking is that we are booked with Airtran and don't want to miss a credit if they will issue one. Are you saying that if my fare drops that they will issue me a credit for the difference? How would I go about doing that if it happens?
TIA!

Bumping with the same question. I saw one of my son's flights had gone down by about $40 over Thanksgiving on AirTran but figured he was out of luck. If we just bought the cheap seats, can you still get a credit?

That is what jumped out at me, very strange. Just glad I got what I did when I did. I am confident the price will drop as time gets closer.

Just call customer service, let them know the flight you booked is less price now, they will verify and credit the difference to your account. You can use for future flights, seat upgrades or baggage for up to one year. And keep in mind that a business class upgrade at the 24 hour mark gives you two no charge bags, so the net cost is negligible, if you are bringing bags.

Thanks - we called and they were very friendly and helpful and credited us the difference! Of course we had to set up an A+ number (no, didn't have one for my son yet) but good to know! Thanks again!
