I have a USair Question??

I went to their website and put in my dates and times. They gave me a quote of $385 on a particular rt flight. Down at the bottom of the page they gave us an Alternate (Cheaper) flight quote saving us $100 a piece. The ONLY difference of the two different flight selections is on the cheaper flight they use a different Boeing 737. The times are exactly the same.

My DH is worried that maybe the difference in the two Boeing 737s is age??? (He's so afraid to fly as it is!! ) In other words, they have two planes leaving at the exact same time, one being a lot cheaper!!!!

Can someone help me out here? BeverlyLynn maybe?

737-300's and 737-400's are rougly the same age ... the -400 is just a little bigger (18 more seats I think), but you don't really notice that.

If one's a 737-200 (and therefore MetroJet), it is likely older, and also being MetroJet, it's all coach seating (MetroJet is their low fare subsidiary).

Regardless of which 737 model it is, the 737 is a safe plane, the most widely used in the world now I believe.

USAir changes their equipment on their timetables frequently, so if you flight is not soon, chances are they will change it anyway. I usually take the 9:30 PIT-MCO flight and it usually starts out as a 737 and when it gets closer to the trip date (a couple months) they change it to a 757 to add more seats. If you look at a PIT-MCO timetable for December, almost every flight is a 737, but if you look at September, there are a variety of planes. They start with 737 because it is their smallest regular jet and then adjust the timetables later by how full the planes are.
