When you get the wine pairings with a meal (I am specifically talking about Victorias and Alberts), are the wine tastings the size of a regular glass of wine? I know this is a really stupid question but I am thinking if I do a wine pairing at V&A I might be crawling out by the end because of all of the courses!

TIA (for not making fun of me! LOL)

I was just researching V&A yesterday and I believe I read that they are 4 or 5 oz pours.

No, they are not full pours. I'd say 4 oz is about right.

Yes.. We just ate there on December 8th while on our honeymoon :goodvibes
I will say, with the wine pairings, even with all of the courses, I still stumbled out of there:rotfl2: It was one of the best meals I have ever had, and the wine was flowing! DH said I was wobbling on the monorail :rotfl2:

I cannot do the full wine pairing at V&A. I've done it before and I'm just not enjoying my meal after about 4 courses.

Now we do one of 2 things. I either just take a sip or two of my husband's or I order just 2 glasses with specific courses. I usually order with my fish course and my meat course and then I'm done.

The great thing about eating 5 star like V&A; the staff is very accommodating.

We ate there 2 weeks ago. My husband got the wine pairing but I asked if I could please have a taste of all of his wines but not truly splitting it because I just wanted like 2 sips without drinking out of his glass. They were so nice about that and he said okay we will give you 1/5 and him 4/5. I think he kept forgetting that it was supposed to not be split in half and I kept getting some glasses that were definitely more than 1/5. The port I got was almost as full as my husband's and he had to finish it for me. Even with splitting like this, my husband said he was as buzzed as he has ever been (He's never been drunk in his life). He actually tripped on himself on the way out and I was cracking up and I drove back to the resort for him. It looks like a full glass like any other restaurant when you get a glass of wine. I totally suggest it and splitting it if you can't handle the whole thing.

1) The tastings are approx 95 ml (3.25 oz).
2) This gives usually 8-glasses per standard 750 ml wine bottle.
3) Sometimes you get a few more ml per glass.

Thank you for the advice everyone! Splitting the glasses seems like the best idea (if they will let us do it!)

They will have no problem doing it. They told me they do it all the time. He said he kept forgetting to get my glass though because on the ticket was only one charge for the wine. They are very obliging.

Snap! We ate there on the 8th as well as we'd got married that day (so it was technically a honeymoon by that point)

I'm sure the server said it was between 3 and 4 oz pours but as said, they hand pour into different sized glasses so you could get more, you could get less, but it still was enough to make me feel slightly tipsy :thumbsup2

Just talk to the wait staff they will accomodate you. No restaurant wants to get their patrons drunk..... Well at least restaurants at the level of V&A. :hippie:
