Can you book a vacation before you have the points? For example, our use year starts in February. Can I book for next summer now with points that will accrue in February? Or do I have to wait until February to make reservations that count on those points?
sorry. still learning. the funniest thing is that we haven't even received our documents yet to sign and then for DVC to get recorded. Am I jumping the gun, or what?

As long as you will have the points needed for the trip at the time the trip occurs, you can book 7 months in advance (or 11 months at your home resort).

thank you, thank you, thank you, Bucky!
Do you have time for another question?
Our home resort is BCV. We want to book at a resort in NY for next July. Does that mean I cannot book until December for July in NY but I could book in August for July at BCV?

The Concierge Collection (which is what most of the non-Disney trades are in) has an 11-month booking window, same as your home resort. The reason is you are actually trading your points at your home resort for a stay out of the system, so you get the same booking window as you would at your home resort.

The concept of a home/non-home resort only applies to DVC resorts, it does not apply to resorts that are available via the Concierge Collection and Intervals International.

For CC and II, you can book 11 months in advance. Remember that with II you are typically going to be getting a week of time which will usually run from Fri-Fri, Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun - it can also help with II if you are flexible about dates and resorts.

Thanks, Guys!! I knew I could count on you!! Better get cracking on getting docs recorded so I can book in August for next July. :)
