Okay the Annual Dues Statement we get around the end of December and pymnt due by 1/15/05 - are these dues for our 2005 allottment of points or our 2004 allottment of points? I told you its a stupid ? :sad2: :confused3

Thanks Sue :goodvibes

They are for the calendar year 2005. You get to pay in advance!

Best wishes -

P.S. You are probably the only one who thinks that was a stupid question, LOL! I didn't.

As Carol said, it's for the calendar year, not use year. You may remember that when you first purchased, dues were prorated depending on what month you purchased.

Some people do look at it based on their use year and how it fits within the calendar year. This is useful to know if you're buying or selling a resale contract to help determine the 'value' of the contract.

Suppose you had a September Use Year. You could then consider your 2004 points go from Sep 1, 2004 through Aug 30, 2005. So 8 of the 12 months are within calendar year 2005. Thus 8/12ths or 2/3rds of your 2005 dues are for your 2004 points. The remaining 4 months of the year, Sep 2005 - Dec 2005 are part of your 2005 use year, so 4/12ths, or 1/3rd of your calendar 2005 dues are for your 2005 Use Year.

Does that help any?

And no, the question is not stupid. As the saying goes, the only Stupid question is the one that's never asked.

Nothing stupid about the question. The stupid thing is that for a December use year, you are prepaying your dues!

We opted to do the monthly drafts---for us, January is a tough month---so we feel better paying it by the month rather than one lump sum due the month after CHRISTMAS! Good luck.

WE also opted for the monthly draft. I don't think I would have that in one lump sum so soon after Christmas.

The statement is for the ESTIMATED dues for 2005 + what you owe for 2004 dues(the difference between the estimated and actual dues for the previous year). At the end of 2005 they will again have a final tally for 2005 dues(estimated vs actual dues).

Not a stupid question--I had to go and hunt up my statement to find out the answer! I pay all my dues monthly, no choice. I have over 700 pts now.

Thank You All for your help - I am no longer annual dues challenged ;)
