In early December, I have a large group of people coming to the Magic Kingdom. This group will probably be about 40 people. As far as I know nobody in this group plays VMK except me, of course. I am planning on asking each of them to turn in the 4 regular quest for me meaning I should probably get about 25-30 sets of quests cards. I do not think that any will go on the tour for me and I will probably not ask them to give up their one annual trip to the Kingdom for VMK.

What is am hoping for is donations of PDF's for prizes that can be won in the game like tent codes and invisibility and nemo chairs. So if you live in some far of place and have no chance of going to any Disney park, how about donating some. If you have more than one of the same PDF, I could try and arrange some way that when some one turned in one that you would get something back. I am unsure of how many people will be willing to turn something in or I would make a promise that, for example, if somebody donated two tent codes that I would send one tent code back. I hope this does not sound "Greedy" but it is unusual for me to have that many real life mules and I do not want to let the opportunity get by.

Wait a minute ... You're going to get 25-30 sets of free quest cards. And you want players who don't live near the parks to give up their pdf sheets so you can get MORE free stuff?

Did it occur to you to perhaps offer to redeem those pdf. forms FOR the out of town players and e-mail them back the codes so that they, too, might share in your incredible bounty?

Just a thought.

I Think That PPL That Can Go To Disney A Lot And Get Quest Cards And Other Rare Items Should At Least Think Of Players That Can't Go To Disney At All! Think Of It This Way If You Have That MAny Sets Of Quest Cards YOu SHould At Least Give Some Away Or Even Trade Then For A Fair Price To PPL Like Me. I Live In OHIO Yes I Am That Far Away And I Am Not Scared To Sayb That My Family Dont Have Much Money Since i AM A Teen I Can NJot Take My Own Trips. So Please Do Not Ask For PPL's PDF's that Can't Go TO Disney. So If YOu Are Getting That Many Quest Cards Keep Me And Others In Mind Because We Can Not Take Trips To Disney...

Also You Have No Clue How Left Out Me And My Sys Feel Hereing About Quests And Exclusive Stuff From Parks. And I WOuld Like It If I COuld GO But Its Not My Choice.

Lets say that 30 people donate tent codes. i then ask my people to please turn them in. In this example only half turn them in so I come up with 15 tent codes. Do you expect me to remember which code i gave which person and which person donated that code? How about the other 15 people who donated. I would have to tell them that I did not turn them in and then try and return the right code to the right person.
I understand your point, I am not trying to be greedy. If you have a better suggestion I will gladly listen. It is not like going with anouther person that I am sure will turn in the codes.
I am not going to impose on the time of my guests if they do not want to do this. Nobody in my party may decide to help me out and I am fine with that. If all want to help me out then great.
I am usually very good at helping out people that want these items. I just feel that this is an opportunity to get some stuff that otherwise may be going to waste.

you asked so here is my suggestion:

you start a list and post it here openly.

People post what they are sending you and how many.

Say Jane Doe sends you two tent codes and she is number 1 on the list she should receive one tent code in return. People wanting a code in return should give you two codes.

you could do that for up to how many people you feel comfortable with.
you have 30 -40 people going then collect a list of say 15 names. After that stop taking codes or names unless someone is just willing to donate you the pdf with nothing in return.

If it were me not only would I gift these people a tent code back but also give them a quest item for being so kind as to give me the extra pdf.

Just a suggestion....

How about a pen and paper and write down the name and email address of the people that send you PDF?

Please remember that attacks are not welcome on the DIS.

We have lots of folks asking for donations or to be gifted items. What the receiver of those items does with them is up to them. If you do not like what they are going to do with the donations/gifts, you do not have to donate/gift to them. Just move on to the next post.

There is no need to question peoples motives, or accuse them of being greedy.

Please keep this board friendly.

I have no problem donating most of the stuff back. My Vmk character has a tent room, that I use to store crates in, and does not need anouther. I am mainly interested in some rocket chairs, catcus chairs and a couple nemo chairs. My problem as I see it is making sure that everyone gets what they donated back.

For example if I get a list of 15 people that donated two pdfs each for tent codes. I will place them in a small bag along with the other quest items and hand a bag to my guest when we arrive at MK. I have no way of getting this quest bag into there possession before arriving at MK. I will not even know in advance exactly how many people are coming. Now out of the 30 people that get a bag with a tent pdf, only 10 turn in the pdfs and return them to me. That gives me 10 tent codes to give back to 15 people. I will have to assume that all the pdfs have been used even though I know that they have not been. I can not email back any pdfs that I am unsure if they had been used or not.
So after returning from the MK, I email the first 10 people on my list and give them the code but I would then have to email the last five and tell them to believe me that I did not turn them in but because I have no way of tracking the codes that I can not return any of the pdfs. I would have a hard time believing that as there are many VMK codes on ebay and other places.
I gifted a Haunted Mansion room a few months ago. There was a problem with the code. Not my fault but I felt responsible to try and fix the problem. I went back to MK and took the tour again the next week just to get a new code. Now imagine in the example above that I am now 5 tent codes short. The only way to make up this shortfall would be to try and get somebody else to turn them in, if I could figure out which pdf to use, or go to MK every 90 days for 1 1/2 years until I am able to collect five tent codes. This is not a situation that I want to get myself into.

My problem is not one of "greed" but tracking. This is why I asked for donated pdfs . I stated in my origanal post that I would "try" and return some of the pdf's to the people that donated them. I would still like to "try" and return them but at this time I can not "guarantee" that any donated items would be returned.

I went to WDW and I took a bunch of PDFs with me. Here is what I did. It is not difficukt to track.

I made a list of who gave me what.
Then on each sheet as I printed them out I wrote the persons name on it. That was in case the code didn't work (I was so glad I did this because 2 codes didn't work when I tried to redeem them).

So if I had a pdf that didn't work I was able to go home and record that information on my log so when it came time to pay up I was not only able to tell the person that their code didn't work, I was able to give them the bar code of the code so they didn't use it again. It also gave me credibility.

VMK also gives you back the pdf papers if you want so the person redeeming them could just slip that paper back with the quest cards and when they turn them back to you, you will know whos code it is.

For each code I redeemed I kept on. So I had people that gave me 6 codes I gave them three back.

I would not give a PDF to someone that you are not SURE is going to redeem it.

I would not jump all over anyone going to WDW and getting a lot of quests. If they are industrious and do it fairly more power to them. It is sad that not everyone can go to Disney but this game is not always fair (just look at the inferno fiasco of last weekend). A Disney trip can cost thousads and if someone is able to go and get cool stuff you can envy them but I would not say they are greedy for not handing out their quest.

This seems to be the heart of the problem as I have no way of knowing in advance who would be willing to turn them in.

So I have decided to ask the moderators to close or delete this thread. One person has donated some codes and I have pm that person that I will do my best to insure that some codes are returned and they are fine with that.
