We are planning a big reunion next June and will be staying off property for most of our stay. We are however going to need a room at least one possibly two nights before checking into the off property location. What I am wondering is if I stay on property for that short stay will I be able to make dining and fast pass reservations early for my whole visit or only the days I would be on property?

This is from the FP faq regarding a spilt stay. Explains it better than I can.
Onsite Stay followed by Offsite Stay
  • Onsite Package Stay followed by Offsite Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite package stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite package stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite package checkout date until the guest checks out of the onsite resort.
  • Onsite RO Stay followed by Offsite Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite RO stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite RO stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite RO checkout date until the guestchecks out of the onsite resort. This assumes valid tickets are linked to the MDX account.
In regards to ADRs, everyone can make them at 180 days out. You will be able to make all of your onsite days reservations on the first day. After that, you have a rolling 180 days for the remamder of your reservations.

"The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite package stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite package stay."

So If Im reading this correctly I would be allowed to to book 60 in advance instead of just 30 for the length of my stay since my booking window would extend all the way till my checkout date?

Yes, you can book 60 days in advance for the one or two days that you stay onsite.

Correct. You can book all of your onsite fastpasses at your first 60 day point. After that you have a rolling 60 day window to book additional fast passes.
